We really enjoyed the trip. We had amazing views in the way to the Atlas Mountains and had the possibility to look into the Berber life. Arriving at the mountains we knew what they meant with good shoes - definitely be aware that at the end of January there can be snow and ice so bring good hiking shoes. We loved it either way! The hospitality we received from the cousins at lunch was amazing and we felt very welcome. It was a pity that at the argan oil cooperative we got told more about their products than the actual manufacturing process - still, we never felt pressured to buy anything though!

Camel riding felt unethical and touristy. The wellbeing of animals is very important for tourists, but this place forces camels to take tourists on rides when they are sick, hurt and in pain. I understand that camels can be riden when they are healthy and well taken care of. However, this place didn't care of that. A big camel had hurt it's leg and cried out loud every time it was forced to step on it and the guide kept pulling it to walk way too fast. And lied to us, claiming that the animal was happy. It was not ok, or something that tourists want to experience. It quite frankly ruined the trip for us. The organizer lived in the mountains and showed us around his local villages and home. Terrain was quite difficult to walk, it felt like a proper hike. The Argan-oil presentation was good and informative. There was also opportunity to buy proper and authentic, good quality souvenirs in their store.

I booked for myself and 6 friends and we would all highly recommend this trip. Omar and Ahmed were very friendly and knowledgeable and we had a lot of fun driving out to the mountains with them. The scenery is beautiful and we enjoyed the stop offs to see argan oil production and to ride the camels. We felt privileged to be welcomed into their home and town. The food was great and we were particularly impressed with the tajine with locally grown veg for lunch, overlooking the Atlas Mountains. The trek to Imlil waterfall was not too heavy at all. One of our group was unwell on the day and another has a problem with her hips. When we told Omar and Ahmed they were very kind and accommodating and made sure my friends were able to continue and rest when needed. Omar even carried my friend’s bag for her! We felt the value was great for this trip and it was a really relaxing day getting out of the city.
