We'll draw upon:

* A historic house, later famous for women's rights, where U.S. sharpshooters attacked an English general during the British invasion of D.C. during the War of 1812.
* The Supreme Court building, the former site of a prison & gallows for Confederate spies
* The breath-taking Library of Congress, endowed by Thomas Jefferson; once the locale of a boarding house of a young Congressman, named Abe Lincoln.
* Surprising tree memorials on the Capitol grounds, including those for 9-11.
* The Senate entrance near a World War 1 bombing of the Senate.
* Capitol steps where the first attempted presidential assassination occurred.
* The House of Representatives entrance were four terrorists entered and fired gunshots at Congress in session.
* The House office building where a bootlegger supplied congressmen with liquor during Prohibition.
* The architecture of the stunning Capitol Building.

Ed knows how to tell a great story. He connected people and events in ways I hadn’t heard before and chose an excellent route that added value. His enthusiasm and love of language made the afternoon fly by. Very fun tour!

Ed brings incredible historical knowledge to all of his tours, and this one is no exception. When you combine that with Ed’s instinct for the most interesting and his gift as a storyteller, and you have a tour guide extraordinaire. Think you know a lot about the Capital and it’s neighborhood? Ed will amaze you with stories you never imagined. I highly recommend the tour.
