Qué harás

Explore the art of Japanese calligraphy at a private home

First, we'll introduce ourselves and get to know each other. Then I will introduce the tools, and do the shodo (Japanese calligraphy) demonstrations as well as a little bit about their histories. We will start by writing characters of hiragana (Japanese writing system) with a brush and ink. After that, we will start with kanji (Chinese) characters. In the workshop, You’ll learn the basic process of calligraphy, including how to make sumi—the ink stick—and how to hold the brush and choose the nice transitional shodo papers. By the end, you might be able to write 50 characters of hiragana and also some encouraging kanji characters. No experience is needed.

We prefer small-group workshops in order to provide the close individual attention for each participant. Max. up to 4 people.
