Qué harás

You will be greeted with water and a few Cameroonian appetizers as I will introduce myself and give you a detailed program of the activity you will experience. During the workshop, I will teach how to make two types of pastries. One of them is savoury and it is called "pili pili" and it is the Cameroonian version of a Jamaican pattie. The other pastry is called "ching ching", it is sweet and it is made with the ingredients used to bake a plain cake. At the end of the workshop, we will have a sharing session during which everyone can taste what each person baked. Then with each person will pack their leftovers in eco-friendly reusable boxes to go home with.

I have been baking Cameroonian pastries since I was 10 years old. When I first moved to Canada about 8 years ago, I searched for restaurants that served Cameroonian cuisine because I wanted to have a taste of home. Fortunately, the restaurants I found served a few Cameroonian meals however they didn't serve any pastries. Initially, because of this, I started baking Cameroonian pastries using the recipes I got from my mom to satisfy my cravings but I have been doing it consistently for the last four years. I find pleasure in making pastries for events or having a girls night during which I teach my friends how to add a Cameroonian flavour to already existing pastries. I hope to teach people who visit Canada how diverse Montreal (the gastronomic capital of Canada) is and make them taste and discover a small part of my culture.
