En esta experiencia aprenderás cómo hacer uno de los platos más emblemáticos de México, guiado por un chef mexicano.

Al mismo tiempo, aprenderá sobre la historia de este plato y los preparará de diferentes maneras, incluidos los tamales, oaxaqueños y el estilo de la Ciudad de México.

Una vez que se complete el proceso de cocción, nos sentaremos juntos, nos conoceremos, nos relajaremos y disfrutaremos de los frutos de nuestro trabajo.

As I grew, so did my passion for Oaxacan cuisine - arguably the best and most varied food of Mexico! I currently work as head chef for a group of restaurants here in Mexico City.

I have always wanted to learn how to make tamales and the process has always seemed a bit intimidating to me. Arturo made it fun and easy with clear instructions and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was great to learn how to make tamales and salsa and the food turned out great. Would highly recommend.

This was an awesome class and experience. Prior to taking this class, I assumed making tamales was difficult because I have heard people complain about it. I was surprised how pleasant Arturo's class was. He really made it easy. We made tamales with corn husks and we used chicken and shredded pork for the stuffing. With the tamales class, he shows you how to make salsa and it was really good. We used the salsa to assemble the tamales. Following his instructions, our tamales were very good. He does show some techniques that make the recipe easier than how most people make tamales. I am not going to tell you, you will just have to sign up for the class to find out :) Some Tips: If you have a steamer with a basket that allows the corn husk wrapped tamales to stand up vertically while it is steamed, that is more ideal than a shallow basket. You can still use a shallow basket steamer however you will need to figure out a way angle the tamales up so when you cook the tamales, the stuffing does not spill out. I used a shallow basket steamer so I put a small bowl upside-down in the basket and rested the tamales against the bowl so they are angled up and it worked. Remember this is only for the corn husk wrapped tamales. Both styles of steamers work but one works a little easier than the other. Which ever type of wrap you use, corn husks or banana leaves, when the class is concluding, make sure to ask him how to wrap with the other type of wrap. Both types of wrap have a slightly different technique. Overall it was a fun experience, Arturo is very nice and he speaks English very well. I would recommend this class to anyone.

Arturo made it an obtainable and enjoyable class to take, I would highly recommend his course! He’s very patient, knowledgeable and made something that was daunting from my childhood Be easy and fun to do! Arturo is a great instructor. He has taught from the beginning to finish. He even waited for me to finish folding all of my tamales before we ended the class. My tamales came out so great and delicious! I think this is the best Tamales I’ve ever tried. This online experience is highly recommended!

What a great cooking experience this was! The process was far less intimidating than I feared because Arturo was a communicative host who shared clear and easy to follow steps which produced tamales that were far more delicious than I could have expected. The masa was flavorful with a creamy mouthfeel. The salsa was easy to prepare and tasty too.

This was a phenomenal online experience! I’ve always been afraid of attempting to make tamales on my own, but Arturo was able to demonstrate each step in a way that made it seem must less difficult than I’d imagined. In addition to preparing some absolutely delicious food, I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. He even showed me his dogs and a live view of Mexico City from his house. I have participated in many Airbnb online experiences, and this is definitely one not to miss!
