We will run through some of the techniques and exercises I use to manage chronic back pain resulting from my career as an a elite butterfly swimmer. I'll share more about my story with back pain and competition tell you how these exercises helped, before demonstrating them to you.

I'm a two-time Olympic swimmer, who placed fifth in the 100m Butterfly at the 2008 Olympics. I placed fourth at the 2011 World Championships in the 100m butterfly, won a Commonwealth gold medal at the 2010 Delhi games, and was Kenya's flag bearer at the 2012 Olympics. I swam in college at Stanford, from where I also graduated with three degrees.

Jason introduced me to 2 deceptively simple techniques for relieving my chronic lower back pain, which I have now begun practicing with good results. I enjoyed spending the time with Jason and felt very encouraged by his own success- chronic pain gets very discouraging! Recommended to anyone suffering from back problems.

I have been suffering from back pains for years and so I found the experience super helpful. Jason shared his inspiring story and gave very practical exercises how to be proactive about back pain and what to do in case you have some. I really enjoyed the experience.

Jason’s experience was excellent. He provided useful tips on how to stretch my back, including suggesting ways to sit more comfortably. Really cool to be able to get advice from an Olympian and hear his story. I also enjoyed that he added his own music to the experience. Highly recommend!

Jason was friendly and it was good to talk to an Olympian who has been through back pain. He shared his methods that he found most helpful for back pain as an athlete and then we got time to talk about his journey.

Such an awesome experience! If you have any back pain, whether moderate or severe, try out this experience. Jason will walk you through his own stories, demo two postures you can you everyday and coach you to make sure you can practice it. 1000% recommended!

The exercises we will do are easy to learn and easy to recreate at home so that you can effectively manage your own lower back pain. However, please be aware that physical activity will be involved including putting you feet up against a wall. Please consult you physician if you have concerns.
