Qué harás

We will start the tour in the morning in one of the oldest markets in Colonia Roma, where we will find the most typical of Mexican gastronomy.
On this visit we will explore the most emblematic stalls, learning a little about the history and origin of each one, while we buy the ingredients that will be used later for cooking.

We will walk through the streets of the Roma neighborhood, admiring its Porfirian architecture and talking about it. We will stop at what we consider to be one of the best specialty coffees and sourdough bread and taste something very special.

Finally we will arrive at our workshop, a contemporary space located in one of the most iconic squares in the colony. There we will learn how to prepare cochinita pibil, a traditional Yucatan pork-based dish, made with contemporary techniques. We will learn from scratch to prepare two typical Mexican sauces, in addition to guacamole and native corn tortillas.

The experience will end with the tasting of Oaxacan artisanal mezcals, enjoying all together the food we prepared.

What a great experience! Montserrat is cool, knowledgeable and skilled. The pace was great, multiple locations allowed everyone to get to know each other in a relaxed way. The instruction was very hands on and fun. And the food was delicious

If you are looking for a unique experience curated by an amazing human being that happens to be a phenomenal chef - this is! Montserrat was a wealth of knowledge and gave us a lot of local insight about the complexities of Mexico City. And then there was the food! From selecting our fresh ingredients at the local market to preparing our meal in her stunningly designed space, Monserrat brought the meal to life. The salsas and tacos we created were some of the best I’ve ever had. And the Mezcal! Definitely a 10/10!

If you’re into food/cooking/experimenting with flavors, this is your experience. Montserrat guided us through the market where we bought our produce, walked us through a pretty piece of Roma and then began the cooking in the gorgeous Cucina. While actively taking pictures and mental notes of all of Montserrat’s cooking techniques, we were also suggested to jump in on the fun and help prepare some of the food (making the tortillas was a fan-favorite). While this was a tourist-like activity, it wasn’t pandering or kitschy at all. In fact, it felt like hanging out with a friend who just happened to be an amazing chef, and in the fun, you’re able to absorb a lot of the knowledge presented. I absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting CDMX.

My girlfriend and I love to cook and thought this would be a great rainy day activity during our first trip to Mexico City. It was even better than we expected - the market was amazing, our host was warm, funny and extremely knowledgeable, and the food was some of the best we’ve had on our whole trip! I would recommend this experience to anyone coming to Mexico City.

Amazing! We had a wonderful time walking through the market for ingredients, exploring Roma and then cooking the food. The kitchen space is beautiful and modern next to many restaurants and shops.

Montserrat was an awesome, laid back, knowledgeable, fun host who not only led us through a great experience but also gave us some of the best CDMX recs for the rest of our trip! We particularly enjoyed walking through the market and trying exotic fruits. The cooking space was so clean, intimate, and conducive for quality bonding. Such a unique, wonderful, delicious experience!
