OUR GOAL IS FOR YOU TO HAVE AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE SURFING - whether its your first time or you're trying to advance your skills. We'll get suited up in the wetsuits I provide, grab the surfboards (we don't use 'one size fits all' Wavestorm boards - we offer custom boards in a variety of sizes to fit your needs) and head down to the sand. For the first 20-30 minutes we’ll be training on the beach, then it’s 60-80 minutes with an instructor in the ocean. The remaining time is yours to practice your skills and have fun in the water.

The classes are taught by myself or one of our great instructors. We usually have the 2nd instructor helping in the water when the group exceeds 6-7 people. We will take photos of you in and out of the water in the last 10-15 minutes of the experience. These are not professional pics but a great memory for you, your friends and family. If you would like pro photos please inquire, we do offer them at an additional fee.

If you want to book for kids under 12 yo - please contact me directly for private lessons
Your safety is our main priority that is why myself and all of our lead instructors are ISA (International Surfing Association), CPR & First Aid certified, we obtain Water Safety Specialists certificates (surfing instructor safety training) and I also completed 2 Level surf instructors program with ISA.
Other things to note
We do teach anyone 12 years old and up

I am a Certified Surf Instructor (ISA Level 2) and obtain CPR, First Aid & Open Water Safety and Rescue Specialists certificates (surfing instructor safety training).

I've been surfing for over a decade and I'm really passionate about it. It's something that inspires me and makes me move forward.

I started surfing experience here on Airbnb a few years ago and it grew into a successful 5-star awarded surf school. We've taught over 6,000 happy students and are proud to be chosen by Google, Snapchat and Facebook to do lessons for their employees.

Throughout my teaching experience I've created a unique technique that allows each student to go at their own pace. We don't just put you on a board and give you a happy time, we explain how surfing works so you actually learn. My goal is for you to have fun and a great experience on a surfboard!

Donde estarás

We’ll be giving lessons on Venice Beach—one of the most famous beaches in California. You’ll be able to not only enjoy the ocean and get surfing experience, but also explore the unique spirit of the eccentric cultural hub of Venice Beach.
We love this part of the beach because it's more mellow than most of the touristy areas and provides more space and safety for learning.
There is also a big parking lot right where we meet and a bus stop nearby.

It was a great experience. Alexi helped us to get comfortable with the waves. A good choice for anyone looking to have a go at surfing.

We had instructor Pacho, and he was absolutely fantastic! There was a group of 4 of us and 3 of us had no experience surfing. He was extremely thorough and explained everything so well. We had lots of time to practice in the water and were all able to get up several times and ride a wave. Absolutely magical experience, will be recommending to others!! Huge thanks to Pacho for his advice and encouragement!!! Plus he’s absolutely STUNNING man. Couldn’t recommend more! :)

I've never surfed and the water was freezing but I had the most fun. Walker was my teacher and he was phenomenal, well informed but casual and his safety tips came in handy! Even with cold temp and water you barely noticed and we were able to be in the water for over an hour. The perfect beginner class or even just to warm up. Awesome awesome awesome. Would totally do again

Very engaging, you get comfortable on the board before heading to the ocean. It was a long enough class that you were really able to get up at least once! Alexi was a great instructor and was helpful throughout the entire lesson.

With a little time to kill before flying back to the Bay Area, I decided to take a surf lesson and spend some time in Venice Beach. I booked this experience as a spur of the moment kind of thing. I knew the adventure was starting when I driving into Venice Beach to park. I arrived early so I strolled around town. When I saw the blue school bus, the stoke was high, yes as corny as it sounds it was the feeling at the moment. It’s been a good while since I was on a surfboard back so to say I’m a kook is a pretty accurate description. We suited up, got our briefing and some on-shore instruction. Alexei wasn’t someone who struck me at first as a surfer, he hails from Russia and has the accent. Later on, I found he started surfing when he was in Central America on a trip. The other people in class were 3 women - one from Germany who was in town visiting a friend, the other two from Florida and a dude from Arizona. We then made our way to the water, Alexei gave us another briefing and despite the fact it was November on a overcast SoCal day the water wasn’t bad. The wetsuits we were given weren’t special but did a good job keeping the group warm. I’ve tried to paddle out and pop up, failing each time. Alexei took the time to explain what I needed to work on and more or less told me to slow my roll. This was a group lesson so there wasn’t the attention given to you as it it was a private lesson. I did see Alexei was being patient, especially with me. As our time together came to a close, I finally stood up for a brief moment letting the Pacific push me to shore. The German woman who was with us was totally crushing it. Everyone else in our group seemed to have a good time. Yes, surfing is hard and there’s some hard and fast rules about it. I’m glad and grateful I got to do this and I would totally do this again if I’m in LA. Alexei encouraged me to slow down, paddle out a little more and don’t immediately pop up. I fly back now wanting to surf back in the Bay Area.
