Qué harás

Join me for a relaxed tour of our small quarter acre urban farm, located an hour south of Sydney in Bulli, a short walk from the railway station and the beach.

See how my partner and I have set up regenerative food systems on a domestic scale such as growing vegetables and herbs, recycling waste through worm farms and compost systems, keeping chickens and bees, as well as energy systems.

After the tour, we’ll sit in the garden and enjoy some coffee, tea or home-made kombucha and delicious home-made or home-grown snacks. We will relax, enjoy the simple things in life and chat about the benefits and challenges of building local food systems in urban areas.

Bring your questions and your enthusiasm for how farm life can exist in the suburbs!

Note as this is an outdoor event we may need to cancel or postpone in the event of wet weather.

I love gardening, cooking, preserving, fermenting, reading, studying, listening to podcasts and chatting. Let me show you the systems my partner and I have set up in our beautiful garden and share some of what I know about growing and cooking food.

The benefits of local food systems - particularly in urban areas - are many and myriad, and include:
- supporting personal health and environmental biodiversity;
- minimising waste, carbon footprint and packaging;
- empowering local economies;
- providing resilient systems;
- connecting people; and (most importantly)
- being delicious!

Having worked as an educator at Pocket City Farms in Sydney, and in the marketing team at Food Fairness Illawarra, I bring seeds of knowledge to share with you.

Donde estarás

Our garden has been designed with both permaculture and landscape design principles. There are zones for food (kitchen garden, vege patch, mini-orchard), zones for rest and recreation (a grassy 'Finska' green, a firepit area and an outdoor bath), and zones for natives to support biodiversity. With backgrounds in architecture and graphic design our garden is beautiful, productive and connected to the surrounding environment.
