Qué harás

Having lived in New Orleans the last 6 years I can provide guest with a wealth of knowledge not only about the wetlands surrounding the Nola but also the best local restaurants, music venues, and hangouts. I can tell you where to go and where not to go and most importantly, how to have fun and be safe.

If you are searching for a gorgeous, natural and picturesque kayak swamp tour – this is your tour! See dense cypress forest, expansive wetlands, and an array of wildlife surrounding you as you paddle on waters that are ideal for beginners and adventure seekers alike.

Total tour time from getting picked up in the French Quarter, Wetlands Kayak Tour, to getting dropped back of in the quarter is about 5 hours total. The drive takes about 45 minutes each way, we take a bathroom break right before and right after the tour as well. Before you head out on tour you are outfitted with all proper equipment and given a paddle lesson.

We will meet at Nola Cantina at 10:15am. If you are running behind please call or text to let us know

New Orleans Kayak Swamp Tours' passion has always been for the great outdoors (check out our website and TripAdvisor page!). Preservation, conservation, and education are our main focuses when guiding you through Louisiana's Most Endangered Natural Resource, the Wetlands.

My love of the outdoors began at summer camp. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to lead people on adventure trips which I have been doing professionally for the last 6 years here in Louisiana.

The bayou is so beautiful and enchanting and I’m so glad I experienced this. I’d you’re thinking about doing this, so it! There is so much wildlife to see. Besides all the plant life like cypress trees and hanging moss, we saw little alligators - you don’t have to be afraid of them! Lots of turtles and large, stunning birds (great blue heron and egrets). Josh was a great host and had interesting and knowledgeable things to share about the bayou, nature, and even on the drive out there about the history of New Orleans and the area, and how the human-built and natural environments intersect. My wife and I shared a kayak with limited kayaking experience and had a really wonderful experience.

This was a fun experience! The weather held up and was perfect before all the summer heat and humidity creep in later this spring. We easily met the tour guides on Esplanade Ave. right on time with the other guests on our tour and hit the road. The 30-min drive to the swamp was fine as we were excited to take a break from our city exploring! We hopped in our kayaks and had an amazing, relaxing experience traveling as a crew of about eight on an out-and-back route in the swamp and bayou. Our guide explained the history of New Orleans; the difference between a bayou, swamp and marsh; the types of wildlife that comes and goes with the various water heights throughout the year; and showed us a couple little alligators along the way. Highly recommend this tour as it was safe, fun, easy, relaxing, and very informative!

Wow! What a lovely way to see the swamp. I left with a new appreciation on the land and ecosystem. Pro tip: bring sunscreen if you skin hasn’t seen the sun in months lol 😂
