Qué harás

Learn about the history of food in Hong Kong, where it came from, how it was influenced by the Chinese and British settlement alike. This 4-hour tour will let you try many local delicacies across Hong Kong Island.
We start the day with a traditional Dim Sum breakfast in an old tea house. We find ourselves transported back to a bygone era as we sample the most authentic Dim Sum available in HK.
Next will be a Michelin guide recommended Wonton Noodle shop that is run by the 3rd generation of the same family. This local speciality is a simple dish but one that only a true master can perfect. We then take a tea break with a cup of Milk Tea, perhaps the most pervasive legacy of British rule, a beverage that Hong Kongers love! Taking the tram, we will visit another family-run restaurant, which dates back to the Qing Dynasty (pre-1900’s) where we sample the best BBQ Pork in Hong Kong, cooked in the traditional style, served with rice and homemade sauces. Another Michelin recommendation and a favourite of the late Anthony Bourdain. Our last stop will be at a bakery with a long history to try the Chinese take on the English egg tart. A personal favourite of former HK Gov. Chris Patten.

Donde estarás

We will visit many different restaurants in Hong Kong Island. Each restaurant serves a different food that is typical to the Canton-Province. All of them have a very long tradition (at least 3rd generation) and will certainly not be your typical tourist stop.

Myself, my husband and two young adult daughters really enjoyed this experience. There was one other guest on the tour. Our host was Sinclair and he was fun, knowledgeable and included everyone in the conversation. The food we tried was very tasty and Sinclair provided interesting tidbits about the city, the restaurants histories, and Hong Kong food customs. I feel we would not have been able to find these restaurants on our own. All in all I would recommend this tour. Thank you Sinclair.

Great tour of Sheung Wan, Central and Wan Chai districts with Jane who gave me an insiders look at the local food scene and her life as an ex-pat in Hong Kong. We started with lovely yum cha, at a location I could never have found on my own. We wandered through several food markets and visited a local tea shop with tasting of rosella tea, a Hong Kong soy sauce maker and egg tart maker. I have visited HK many times and hadn't encountered any of these experiences on my own. It gave me the confidence to go into other local makers with ease. Jane also gave other suggestions for other off the beaten track outings, which I covered in my following days. Thoroughly enjoyed my time with Jane and highly recommend her tour.

We had a small group of 5 people, that was a really lovely size. Karen was our guide, she not not only knew about the food, but history and fun facts of HK too which was great. Would highly recommend doing this if you're visiting HK for the first time. Eating like a local and wondering the streets-nothing better to do in a new city and these guys do it well.

This was a last minute plan after my original plan to go kayaking was scrapped because of the weather. Best choice ever! I was treated to a veritable culinary tour of places in Hong Kong I would not have been able to find on my own. Quantity and variety, combined with a knowledgeable host made this a must-try during your visit. Word of advice: Don’t have breakfast before, come hungry!

Very detailed exploration of culinary culture of Hong Kong. I'd a lot of fun and been to some beautiful places that I wouldn't have otherwise.
