You will board a Duffy electric boat at a preserve and on a reservoir located in Manatee County. Most people including the locals, don't know this place exists. I'll introduce you to some of the local history as we travel upstream on the Braden River. We will see abundant wildlife along the way and mark off specific birds on a bird bingo card I designed specially for the tour. Binoculars are provided to see closeups of nature dotting the shoreline. Since our boat is electric, we can get up close to baby alligators in a secret location. We'll make a stop at an Old Florida Lodge for an optional lunch. On our way back we discuss the pioneers who once lived along the river. We talk about how they survived by utilizing what they had around them. An occasional riverside homeowner give a wave when we go by. As we get close to the end of the tour, we travel around Bird Island. Named because it's an exclusive place where birds come to roost. This place is only accessible by boat. We take special care not to disturb the birds as they rest. Because we get so close, we could hear the bird sounds and take pictures of the experience.
