Qué harás

The ramen tour will begin by coordinating a plan beforehand to ensure guests get the best experience possible for their trip. For novice ramen eaters we will focus on two popular ramen varieties and choose restaurants that cater to their taste buds. For more advanced ramen enthusiasts we will focus on two more niche ramen restaurants that specialize in particular soup styles and broths. For the most advanced and/or adventurous, we will go to the one of the top ramen restaurants in Tokyo as well as an additional, top quality shop near by!
Other things to note
If you have any allergies, please let me know beforehand so we can plan your ramen trip accordingly. Unfortunately I do not offer vegetarian and vegan ramen tours.

I am a part time food blogger primarily focused on finding amazing ramen restaurants in and around Tokyo. I run both an instagram and a food blog to showcase some of the amazing restaurants I have visited so far. Come check it out @ramenguidejapan and www.ramenguidejapan.com. You may have seen me from over on The Food Ranger's YouTube channel as I helped navigate him through the famous ramen shops of Japan!

Over the past year I have visited over 200 ramen restaurants and eaten many more. As a Japanese native, I am fluent in both Japanese and English so I can assist you in your orders as well as answer any questions you might have about a certain shop!

Donde estarás

The two ramen restaurants we visit will be catered to each guests' familiarity with ramen. One will be a nationally recognized shop ranked in the top 100 by tabelog as well as another shop that may or may not be in the top 100, but popular among locals.

I highly recommend Cody's ramen tour, especially if you are a foodie, and the couple hours fly by quickly because it was so interesting. He really knows his ramen. He gave a great explanation of the history of ramen and what qualifies as ramen in Japan, the ingredients comprising ramen, the reasons the top quality ramen shops stand out, the best way to eat ramen and what flavours to look out for, and the current trends of ramen in Japan. In between the ramen stops, he showed me around Shinjuku and explained some of the highlights of the area so I got information from a locals perspective, gave recommendations of what to do in Tokyo, where to shop, eat, and get drinks, and places to avoid. I liked that he took me to two restaurants that are not as well known to foreigners because I would have never gone there myself. Plus, I lucked out and ended up having a private tour with Cody and he was kind enough to answer all my many questions. The tour is organized well and starts and stops at the same spot near Shinjuku station.

Fantastic insights into ramen culture in Toyko, and a very approachable, welcoming and passionate host. Definitely recommended! Just don't have a big meal beforehand!

Cody provided a great experience and took our group of 4 to 2 wonderful ramen restaurants that were both so different from eachother. Cody was extremely knowledgeable when it came to explaining the ingredients and cooking process of the ramen dishes we tried, which gave us a much better appreciation for what we were tasting. Cody also was also very helpful in sharing tips and recommendations for the remainder of our trip. If you are a ramen lover visiting Tokyo then do yourself a favour and book a ramen tour with Cody.

Great tour and very pleasant way to spend a morning. Shotaro (Cody) was informative and has a passion for what he does. I was also grateful that he did cancel even though I was the only one on the tour. There is no way I could eat 2 bowls of ramen but you need to go to more than one to learn about the differences

Highly recommend!!! Amazing experience not only eating Ramen, but also getting a tour of the neighborhoods we were in. Cody went above and beyond providing additional info to help with our stay in Tokyo. As I’m writing this review, he is probably messaging me with info we asked about on the tour.
