We meet at the entrance to the lovely Okere falls walking track, here we will identify the native plants we will be using to manufacture into remedies, we discuss the traditional Maori philosophies and spiritual practices of Rongoa (traditional Maori medicine) and the more modern uses of native New Zealand herbs, found no where else in the world. The environment is a luscious native rainforest, if we are lucky we may see some of the beautiful native birds, tui , fantail, kereru. We then make our way back to the workshop where we will learn how to manufacture balms, tinctures , infusions and decoctions from wildcrafted New Zealand herbs, which we will blend into beautiful organic waxes and oils. During the workshop we will taste and sample different native teas . The walk Is very easy, we will spend about half an hour in the bush and 2.5 hours in herbal kitchen smelling, tasting and formulating your own piece of New Zealand. This Workshop is designed to pass on the knowledge of the treasures we have access to in the New Zealand bush and how you may use these herbs all year round for improved health and wellness of your family.
Other things to note
Okere falls is a lovely destination, there is plenty to do and see. We have an award winning cafe which serves great coffee, food and has a fantastic German beer garden. If you feel like a snack or coffee afterwards. Bring appropriate footwear and if the weather is bad an umbrella.

Donde estarás

We start at the entrance to a native rainforest, gaze at what New Zealand looked like a few hundred years ago, the location untouched meaning the wildlife and forest have a unique old New Zealand feel. Identifying native herbs that have made there way to the main stream market, view them in there natural habitat, see, smell , taste, then manufacture your own piece of New Zealand's Taonga (treasure) with a skilled NZ herbal Specialist.
