Welcome to the Swan Mountains Guest Suite! Sitting on ten acres, just 30 minutes west of Glacier NP, this suite is centrally located in the Flathead Valley amid hundreds of year-round recreational activities. After a day exploring or hiking, you can look forward to coming home and relaxing in this clean & comfortable suite with its Tempurpedic king bed, mountain views, kitchenette, huge bathroom, and many special touches. Why put up with noisy hotels? You'll love the quiet and privacy here.

El espacio
Bright and modern, this sparkling clean, stand-alone guest suite features a Cal-King Tempurpedic bed, and a large bath with dual vanities, towel warmer, walk-in shower with two showerheads, and a private toilet room.

The comfortably appointed living room includes two loveseats, large ottoman/coffee table, 32-inch flat screen HDTV (local channels and a Roku streaming box with Netflix and Pandora, plus more) with in-wall surround-sound speakers. Top-down, bottom-up cellular blinds allow privacy while still allowing you to enjoy the views and let light in. There is a drop-leaf dining table with seating for two. The kitchenette features full-size fridge/freezer (with ice-maker), Culligan bottled-water on-tap, KitchenAid smart toaster/oven (fits a 12" pizza), electric fry pan and microwave. There is no cooktop or ventilation hood, so guests should plan on light cooking only (for meats and fish there is a gas grill on the patio--May thru Sept.).

The suite features stained-concrete floors throughout. Our guests often enjoy sunsets and an evening beverage on the large patio, which includes a picnic table, gas fire pit and Weber gas grill (fire pit and grill available May thru September). Seasonally, there is a water-feature and potted flowers around the patio.

Whenever possible, we use products that are local, organic, non-GMO and/or natural. We avoid heavily-scented cleaning products. Our cleaning checklist is extensive and has ALWAYS included sanitizing/disinfecting all touch surfaces and steam cleaning the floor after each guest. The guest suite is power ventilated for at least 6 hours and will be unoccupied for at least 24 hours prior to your arrival. We participate fully in the Airbnb cleaning initiatives.

How do you like your coffee? We appreciate great coffee, so you won't find any stale hotel-like packaged coffee here! We have a number of brewing options available -- from AeroPress to Drip to French Press -- and we provide Montana Coffee Traders coffee (fresh, locally-roasted, organic, and we freshly grind the beans just before you arrive). We also provide an assortment of teas, cocoa, spices, condiments, and other goodies. A small but well-stocked market is just a few minutes up the road.

While we don't cook breakfast for you, you will find an assortment of packaged and fresh breakfast items stocked for your stay.

This guest suite can accommodate one or two people only (no extra people).

Keyless entry means no keys to lose and you can check in late if your arrival is delayed (although we are usually up late).

We have a strong 5-bar cell signal (Verizon) at our location. (Note that most of Glacier Nat. Park has little-to-no cell service). WiFi is available in the guest suite*** (see limitation notes below).

We have lots of parking space, so if you are towing a trailer, there is room to park it. Our property is a 'work in progress' with continual improvements being made to the landscape and amenities---but we never allow work to disturb our guests.

Our nightly rates vary commensurate with seasonal demand.

Acceso de los huéspedes
This is a stand-alone guest suite with private entrance in a building separate from the owner's residence on a 10-acre site. Keyless entry means no keys to carry...or lose. The site is mostly level and the suite is on the ground floor with no stairs. Feel free to walk on the open grassy site, watch wildlife, or visit the neighboring horses (they love carrots and apples).

Otros aspectos a destacar
Shortly after you book, we will send you a link to our online guest welcome book. It can be viewed from any computer or smartphone. It includes info about the guest suite, the area and restaurants, and things to do. There is also an interactive map. The restaurant listings include web-links to the map and TripAdvisor and/or a business website.

Trip Cancellation Insurance is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED so that you protect your vacation investment. Alternately, you get a 10% discount if you opt for a non-refundable booking. Please understand that by booking, you are entering into a contract with us to hold those dates exclusively for YOU, and is subject to our Strict cancellation policy. Once you've booked, and after the free-cancellation period, we make refunds according to that policy and/or if we are able to re-book to other guests the night(s) you originally booked and then subsequently cancelled. Our market is highly seasonal and our bookings typically arrive months in advance. Please be aware that re-booking your cancelled dates, while possible, is not likely given the nature of our seasonal market. Consequently, travel insurance is the best way to protect your funds, because like the bumper-sticker says..."stuff happens."

If you plan to book any kind of tour/activity between Memorial Day and Labor Day (high season), Please inquire with the tour operator or venue about reservations WELL IN ADVANCE. And be sure to reserve your Rental Car in advance too!

Glacier National Park and the surrounding wilderness in our area where you may be hiking or recreating, are BEAR COUNTRY. Information and instructions on how to be BEAR AWARE is included in our online guest welcome book as well as a binder of information in the Guest Suite. Bear Spray is a "MUST" when in the wilderness areas (we've never seen bears on our property or nearby, but the possibility is there). Bear Spray (with holsters) is provided in the Guest Suite for your your use during your stay, [Bear Spray is NOT allowed on commercial airlines---nope, not even in checked luggage.] DO NOT TEST SPRAY the bear spray Canisters...Nope, don't do it! The canisters are NOT rechargeable and if you test spray the canister, it is no longer useable. Replacement bear spray cartridges' are $50/ea.

We have dogs and cats that live on our property; however, they do not enter the guest suite.

Weather-wise, you just never know what Mother Nature will dish out in Montana. Evenings are cool--even in summer, and a 40-50 degree temperature change in a day is not uncommon. Temperatures drop as you gain elevation in the park and it not unusual for some snow to fall, at elevation, even in summer. The rule here is to dress in layers so you can add or subtract depending on the weather. The suite has an extra heater and extra blankets in case you need them.

We set up a window air-conditioner in the suite for the summer.

We have ice chests available to loan you for your excursions. Block and crushed ice are available at Woody's Store, 1 mile south of us.

We have STARLINK for internet access; speeds are usually 80+ download, and 20 up. Starlink has been stable and dependable even in Beta phase, we expect it to only get better. Outages in Beta have been far and few between and average a minute or two. We have a dedicated guest wi-fi network with an access point inside the guest suite. We have a strong cell signal at the site (Verizon; perhaps others), so you may be able to hotspot from your cell phone in the event of an internet outage. As it is entirely out of our control, we cannot guarantee internet access.

**NOTES REGARDING GLACIER NATIONAL PARK IN 2021:
1] Glacier Nat. Park will institute a ticketed entry system in 2021, beginning May 28, through Sept 6. Information is available on the Park's website. Tickets are free ($2.00 processing fee) and are good for seven days. In addition to the ticket reservation, you still need a park pass. If you have a reserved activity in the park (boat, bus, horseback rides, etc. then a ticket isn't necessary for that day, but still needed if you plan to enter the park on other days (proof of activity reservation must be shown).
2] A major (and much needed) road reconstruction project may limit and delay access to the Many Glacier Area (East side) of the Park in 2021. If this is an area you wish to visit, please inquire and we can provide additional details, or see the Park website. Also, road construction on US Hwy 2 outside the west entrance to the park is planned for summer 2021.
3] E-bikes (along with other bicycles) are allowed on the Going to the Sun Road, AND will be available for rent in or near the park. E-bikes will be allowed EARLY access to Going to the Sun Road BEFORE the road opens to vehicle traffic (weather permitting). This is a great way to see the famous road before the the summer crowds appear.
4] Summer 2021 is looking much better for the Covid-19 pandemic, but it may still affect operations and accessibility at Glacier NP. Please visit the park's website for most current information, and expect changing conditions and restrictions. We welcome your inquiries if you have specific questions.

Ubicación

Kalispell, Montana, Estados Unidos

We are in a rural setting with lots of open space around us. Homes and small farms are on 10+ acre parcels. We're 30 minutes west of Glacier National Park (West Entrance) and 10 miles (15 minutes) East of Kalispell, we sit at the foot of the Swan Mountain Range ( Avg. elevation: 8500 feet ) on a level 10 acre site.

We are far enough from city lights that the stars are amazing on clear nights, and we often enjoy spectacular sunsets and even a little bit of the Northern Lights on occasion . We are on a paved, private road with very little traffic, so pleasant walks are just outside your door. It's very quiet here, so enjoying the morning and evening birdsong is easy--you may hear doves cooing or owls hooting. There is a lake within walking distance (view only -- no public access). Deer and raptors visit the site frequently, and you might be lucky enough to see other wildlife wander through (elk, wild turkeys, coyotes). In the spring and summer, Bluebirds and Swallows enjoy the houses we put out for them, and Great Horned Owls visit in the evening. Please look at our guidebook for our recommendations for dining and activities.

We've been happily married for 21 years. Tom is a retired Deputy Fire Chief and serves as a board member for a healthcare non-profit. Lisa is a retired business owner (pet sitting/dog walking service), and works at the local animal shelter. We spent the first half of our lives near Puget Sound in NW Washington State; now we like living in the Flathead Valley, surrounded by the mountain ranges of NW Montana. In summer, you'll usually find us working in our yard or vegetable garden. In winter, we enjoy playing in the snow. No matter what the season, we love spending time with our much-adored dogs and cats. We care a great deal about our guests' experience and satisfaction. We go the extra mile to ensure our guest suite is clean and comfortable, and we provide high-quality amenities throughout the guest suite.

Durante tu estadía
We like to personally welcome our guests and show them around the guest suite when they arrive (appropriate COVID-19 precautions taken). After that, we leave-you-be unless you need something or have questions. Although we live on-site, the guest suite is very private with no window-to-window line of sight. We are happy to share our knowledge of the area and provide recommendations. You may see us working in the yard or in our vegetable garden. We have our own friendly pets, who you are welcome to visit with...or not.
