Tucked away, surrounded by native forest, Little House is about three miles and a 10 minute drive from both downtown and the University of Oregon. It's a mile from the Ridgeline Trail System, 15 miles of trails through 100 year old Doug Fir forest. And there's a bus stop half a block away!
It's small, cozy, well equipped and well loved by all.
If you're thinking of bring a pet, would you kindly read the "dog rules" and be in touch about who and how big your four legged is.

El espacio
Little House began its life in the 1930's as a single car garage. Over time, it became a tool shed, an office and finally graduated into its current self when college-aged kids, followed by grad students needed a lovely little place to live.

Cozy, it's nestled in a native woodland, most of which we planted ourselves, with filtered views out through Coastal Redwood, Western Red Cedar, Sword Fern Snowberry, Rhododendron, etc. Extra well insulated, with plastered walls and ceilings, it's finished out with natural, reclaimed Doug Fir and some wainscoting from the 1920's Eugene Dairy Cooperative. A vaulted ceiling over the living/dining space gives way to a sleeping loft and low-ceilinged kitchen and bathroom. It's a ship's ladder climb to the loft. The 7' kitchen as copper countertops, recycled fir and redwood ceiling and shelving, an under counter fridge, a gas range w/oven and handcrafted fir cabinets. The European style tiled shower/toilet room has an on-demand hot water heater for endless hot showers.

Everyone who's seen it, and everyone who's lived in it has loved it. But it's not for everyone. The sleeping loft is low, the ladder up to it, steep, and a futon awaits at the top. But a window looks out to the North, and a skylight faces up for star gazing.

Our lives revolve around making wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces for people to enjoys. Residential designer/builders, we do our best to create places that are harmoniously integrated with their native ecosystem. That's been our intention with Little House.

The Ridgeline Trail system is not far, a couple of parks, a ballfield, running tracks/trails and the bus are close by. It's a comfortable three mile walk to the U of O or to downtown.

P.S. Little House shares an acre with our house and is visually screened from us. However, we do have two and a half Border Collies (the other half is Retriever), who are very friendly, sometimes bark a bit in the night and whom we take on a 7-8 a.m. walk in the morning, making a bit o f noise.

Otros aspectos a destacar
We charge a one time $ 10 fee for each four legged visitor, payable directly to us upon arrival.
We ask that canine four leggeds not go up into the loft.
And that, if they are left alone in Little House, all four leggeds be crated.

We love what we do. We do what we love. And we are happily rooted in our place We've taken our acre in South Eugene, once a clear cut, cattle grazed piece, and planted it up with a diversity of native forest plant life, created ponds and invited new wingeds and four leggeds to come and enjoy our emerging forest. We've built a small shop/studio and a garage for ourselves, which suite our aesthetic. And we see the evolution of this place as more than a life long project. And this is what we do for other folks as well, design/build residential. We have three dogs, four grandchildren, go backpacking in the summer, do yoga on Sundays, drink red wine with dinner and enjoy life as it goes along.
