AT THE SUNSET CABIN
This charming 1920's Lake Arrowhead cottage-style home is located in the exclusive neighborhood of The Palisades, amidst a serene alpine setting with ridgeline views & peeks of the lake.

We are located just 2 blocks from the lake and less than 5 minutes to the village, theater and marina.

With our Arrowhead Lake Association member pass, guests can have access to the miles of lake trails and member-only lakeside parks (sorry, there's no beach club access). *Please note that the lake pass admits a max of 6 guests at a time (including children) into the lake parks.

*Bring a bundle of firewood if you'd like to cozy up next to the fireplace!

This enchanting retreat is nestled among the trees in the heart of the exclusive lakeside neighborhood of the Lake Arrowhead Palisades.

The main living area features a vaulted living room ceiling, a wood-burning fireplace, large windows overlooking the deck and a cozy kitchen nook. Enjoy the compact, galley-style kitchen with classic country-style cabinetry & granite countertops.

The main floor bedrooms are furnished with comfy queen, pillow-top beds & quilted bedding. A well-appointed full-bath is also located on the main level. Additionally, two twin beds & rustic-style half-bath are located upstairs.

*There is a flight of steps (outside) to the first level of the home (this is quite common for the mountain community) and a steep staircase (inside) to the third floor (be sure to use the handrails).

On the bottom floor of the cabin, and accessible ONLY from OUTSIDE through it's own private entrance, is "The Captain's Suite." Custom finished in natural hem-fir, this unique space will offer two of our guests some seclusion and privacy, along with a cozy, private bathroom and sunlit, sitting area.

It's absolutely perfect for a holiday vacation or even just a mini-weekend getaway for couples and families interested in sight-seeing & hiking, shopping & dining, or just relaxing in a peaceful mountain hideaway.

A grassy hillside and a tree-lined lot borders the house providing the utmost in serenity and privacy. Plus, enjoy a private deck & spacious patio with outdoor furniture to relax, dine and enjoy the tranquil alpine setting.

The best place to watch the sunset is on the deck with a drink in hand!

GUEST ACCESS

All of it! You have access to the entire house. The cabin is setup to be your home away from home.

Note: There are two storage closets that are locked and not accessible to guests (in 2nd bedroom and one downstairs in the Captain's Suite - also note that the Captain's Suite is not accessible from the main floors of the home and has its own private, separate entry on the opposite side from the main entry).

*Arrival & check-in time is after 3pm.
*Departure & check-out is by 11am.

Additional note to guests:
*There is a flight of steps (outside) to the first level of the home (this is quite common for the mountain community) and a steep staircase (inside) to the third floor (be sure to use the handrails).

*PARKING: There is convenient vehicle street parking that is plowed during the winter **PLEASE ONLY PARK ON OUR SIDE OF THE STREET -- parallel to the retaining wall near the outside stairs leading up to the house.

Q: DO WE ALLOW EARLY CHECK-INS?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early check-ins -- as it will not allow our housekeeper enough time to fully prepare the home for you.

Q: CAN I GET A LATE CHECK-OUT?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot grant late check-outs. Our housekeeper is on a tight schedule to clean multiple homes, and we cannot accommodate a late check-out request. Thank you for your understanding.

Q: IS THE PROPERTY ISOLATED?
A: The Property is located in a mountain community and is surrounded by neighboring cabins. The community itself is just a few blocks from the Lake.

Q: CAN I INVITE MORE PEOPLE THAN THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED LISTED?
A: Maximum occupancy does not only refer to the number a home can sleep, this is also the number of people allowed in the home at any given time. It is determined by the licensing authority based on the number of exits in the home and fire safety codes.
**MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY - Please abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at all times.
*San Bernardino County has codes that are strictly enforced. Be sure to abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at ALL times.

As a guest, you are welcome to use all of the amenities provided. We want our guests to enjoy all we have to offer. All we ask is that you treat our home with care.

Q: WHAT TYPE OF WEATHER SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY TRIP?
A: PLEASE COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED!!! Be sure to check the local forecast for weather conditions. In the fall & winter months expect fog, rain, sleet and snow. Roads can be very icy, and the owners cannot be responsible for weather or driving conditions.

Q: DO I NEED TIRE CHAINS ON MY VEHICLE?
A: During the SNOW season it is wise to carry snow chains. CHP requires possession of chains/cables when traveling mountain roads in icy conditions. Chains can be purchased at the base of the mountain near Highland Avenue & Hwy 330 at the Super Walmart. *Be sure to get the right size for your tires.

Q: WILL I HAVE TO SHOVEL SNOW?
A: YES! Our neighborhood road is plowed by the county - but our steps, entry and deck are not. *Guests are responsible for removing snow should it snow during their stay.

Nestled in the majestic mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest, widely known as "The Alps of Southern California," Lake Arrowhead is the best kept secret on the West Coast.

The Palisades is located in the coveted Arrowhead Woods district which is the area you have to live within, in order to have access to the lake (Lake Arrowhead is a private lake collectively owned by those homeowners).

With our Arrowhead Lake Association member pass, you can have access to the miles of lake trails, fishing on the lake, and member-only lakeside parks. *Lake Pass admits a total of 6 guests at a time (including children) into the lake parks (sorry, there's no beach club access)

Enjoy morning & sunset walks or jogs around the lake perimeter trail and be sure to partake in the countless outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, skiing, fishing, and much more.

We are close to skiing - just 25 minutes from Snow Valley Ski Resort and 45 minutes from Big Bear Lake and more skiing, snowboarding & sledding.

Q: IS THE PROPERTY ISOLATED?
A: The Property is located in a mountain community and is surrounded by neighboring cabins. The community itself is just a few blocks from the Lake.

To reduce risk of wildfire during severe wind conditions, Southern California Edison reserves the right to temporarily cut electrical service to its customers, and we have no control over that. 

*Our guests understand that there will be no refunds for power outages, and that they'll happily accept the unlikely inconvenience for the sake of preserving our forests!
