A dónde irás

Bilbo, Euskadi, España

The Art District is actually the best option to enjoy Bilbao. Why? think of Guggenheim museum, and Fine Arts Museum and all the art placed at the streets around signed by the world famous arquitects Frank Gehry, Santiago Calatrava, Arata Isosaki, Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid, Phillippe Stark and Ricardo Bastida to name some.
The neighbourhood is full of cafeterias, with lots of tasty pintxos and tapas. In the close surroundings you will find the most modern and well restored restaurants and commercial stores of the city. The newly built Iberdrola tower is the foremost vanguards sing of architecture, is just 2 min on walking distance from the apartment.
I love the atmosphere given by students from Deusto University which is one of the most well know economic universities of Spain. Is worth visiting the main buildings, on 5 min walking distance from home. You will enjoy visiting buildings from the year 1886, with 14.000students and 1800teacher. Its motto is "sapientia mellior auro" , better than gold is to know. Touch the stones of this university and feel the old Spanish universities and their sayings...."carpe diem"
Other areas of the city, like Casco Viejo and Mercado de la Rivera are reached on 20min
walking distance or taking the tram at 10min distance from the Guggenheim tram Stop.
The Athletic Bilbao football Stadium is also close at 18min walking distance.
Personally what i like most of my neighbourhood is to run uphill to Artxanda mountain, 30 min walking distance to reach the hill, but 5min to exit the vibrant neighbourhood and when once the top is reached the views to the ocean are magical. I also like the sensation of freedom that evokes the forest of artxanda mountain. Walking or running through it makes me feel at home.

Born and raised in the amazing Basque country. Who else better to introduce you in this ancient, misterious and cultural country? My mission is to provide you with a pleasant and satisfying accomodation while you stay at home and I will do my very best for you to have the best experience in Spain, Bask country, Bilbao and at my home. About me, passions are hiking the big mountains, surfing the wild Atlantic ocean, long boards, eating healthy organic food, making wine with my father, travelling around the world, practicing yoga, cultivating olives and making olive oil. I believe in a simple life, and see my self close to nature, being surrounded by birds, cultivating an organic vegetable land, and a beautiful garden of lavenders, rosemarys, agapanthus and lilacs. If this is also you, then this is your place! But if this is not you, aswell will be your place since this home is full of openmidness. Lets cheers together those glasses of the free organic wine I provide at home !!! Did I said lavender is my fav color? Which is yours? :)

Durante tu estadía

I am very fond of interacting with my guests, making friends with them or just being a good tour guide as much as I can. If my guests are not afraid of travelling, I can offer many ways of touring Spain starting with a mulberry eating tour, grapes and wine tasting tour in the best Rioja of Spain, visits to wine-production fields and last, but not the least, a trip to my own lavender field just an hour away from Bilbao. In the meantime, we could have discussed certain tricks of planting and producing lavender and other medicinal plants...p.s. I recommend a book by Maria Treben, a famous Austrian woman who used to cure people by means of plants).
I can also take my guests to the most awesome beaches of the Basque Coast-Cantabrico or just pick them up at the metro or bus stop to discover Bilbao, its people, its places, its food, wine and cultivation of plants. Our trip would start in Bilbao and extend to other parts of Northern Spain in the discovery of its beauties, its beautiful coast La Coruña, where the most ancient light house was built by Romans and is still functioning, then head to Santiago de Compostela pilgrim spot by doing the ´´Camino de Santiago´´ starting at Saint Jean Pied de Port (one hour away from Bilbao).
