This historic house is in the midst of one of NOLA's most beautiful neighborhoods. Walking distance to the French Quarter, and steps away from great local haunts, you'll find yourself in the heart of it all right here in my comfy, brightly painted oasis chock full of Louisiana charm.

COVID-19 Update: Please note that ALL surfaces, door knobs, etc will be disinfected between guests. For your peace of mind, we'll also leave disinfectant materials for your use throughout your stay. We are committed to our guests' health and safety. No contact check-in is in place as well!

Looking to get a glimpse of what it's like to live in the heart of beautiful NOLA? Looking to be walking distance to the French Quarter but are seeking a less touristy experience? My home is your place!

I've lived in this home for 5 years and it's been a labor of love, as it's over 150 years old and we've done quite a bit of updating (new bathroom, renovated upstairs) while retaining the old world charm (exposed brick columns, 14 ft ceilings, plank floors). The house has two floors, approximately 1400 SF– lots of room, but also quite cozy! I can accommodate up to 6 guests, as per city regulations, however please note that you will all be sharing one bathroom. The master bedroom on the second floor is huge (we've combined 2 rooms into one) and has a pillow-top queen sized bed. On the first floor, there's a queen sized eLuxurySupply gel/memory foam bed as well as a standard mattress/box spring full-sized bed.

The cool thing is there's a bit more privacy than in typical NOLA shotguns because although the first floor is shotgun style (one room leads into next 3 rooms + kitchen in the very back), the bedroom upstairs is practically an apartment unto itself. If 5 or 6 guests are booking, there will naturally be a little less privacy due to the nature of the downstairs bedrooms being shotgun style (message me for more info). The kitchen is at the very back of the house and the bathroom is off of it. There is a common space/parlour in the very first room of the house with table, couch, TV (there is NO CABLE but I provide a HDMI input + free *high speed* wifi provided so you can hook up your personal device to the TV and stream movies).

**The city of New Orleans now requires short-term rentals to be licensed. My house is fully licensed.

Acceso de los huéspedes
This is a two family home, with two separate, private entrances (guests have a private entrance). Take a break from exploring and relax on the private front porch or on the little patio with deck in the small backyard. This is a shared yard with our friend & neighbor, Cookie.

Otros aspectos a destacar
I provide special attention to vegan/vegetarian travelers! Please let me know if this is you because while NOLA food is decadent/delicious/full of meat and seafood, there are many places who will accommodate you. Let me point you in the right direction.

This is a vibrant neighborhood that's full of nightlife. While nowhere nearly as loud as staying in the French Quarter, the area can be lively on the weekends!

This is a multi family home (each with private entrances, front porch has a privacy screen splitting in two). Our awesome tenant, Cookie, lives right next door with the sweetest little pup ever. Cookie is there to help you/answer any questions that you might have.

Marigny, Nueva Orleans, Luisiana

Maybe I'm biased, but the Marigny is possibly the best neighborhood to stay in if you're looking to have a less touristy and more unique NOLA-rific experience. You're in the middle of the action, but it's not tourist central like the Quarter.

You are just steps away from amazing bars, restaurants and cafes at every turn (ie, no car needed if you love to walk like I do!) Rub elbows with the locals at beloved haunts such as Mimi's, Lost Love Lounge, Siberia, Marie's Bar. Grab a unique meal in a rustic environment at The Franklin. We're less than a five minute cab ride to the Bywater where there are great spots like Bacchanal, Vaughan's Pub & Elizabeth's. You can take a 7 min walk to Frenchman St. for top notch music spots like dba, Three Muses and Spotted Cat.

If you're a coffee fiend like me, you'll be in paradise in this neighborhood, as there are no less than 5 coffeehouses within walking distance. The French Quarter is a scenic 10 minute stroll away.

But hey, let me give you an even bigger list of suggestions before your arrival cuz that's kind of what I do for a living :)

My heart and soul are divided between two places that I deeply love: New York and New Orleans. I work as a Manager of Community for a website that is all about helping people discover local businesses and I thrive on discovering the best places to eat, drink and play in cities across the globe. I am a native New Yorker, have lived in New Orleans for 7 years. I am vegan and I have had great passion for this lifestyle for over 20 years. I eat out a lot (and can help veg and veg-curious travelers find great places), but I also cook at home. I thrive on traveling and finding the best vegan/healthy joints in each place I visit. In my free time I like to work out (Peloton + yoga) read, work on my novel, figure out my costumes for Halloween and Mardi Gras, play with my cats and discover the best local businesses in town. I adore historical buildings and can't imagine living in a home that's less than 60 years old (my house in NOLA is over 100!), though now I also live in a house that's about 40 years old in the Hudson River Valley. My favorite places to visit include Italy, Costa Rica, and Bali. I like staying in boutique hotels (I travel constantly for work), but there's nothing like staying in a unique neighborhood in any given town. I appreciate killer design (with a fondness for Mid Century Modern, though my own style is much more eclectic and leans towards antique oddities and shabby chic). I love to entertain and have hosted anything from intimate soirees to epic bashes for over a thousand people. I can show you how to have the best time! I look forward to sharing my homes with people who are destined to fall in love with New Orleans the way I first did, 20 years ago, as well as the glorious Hudson Valley, NY. As a host, I will do whatever I can to make the most of your time in my gorgeous city (if you don't love New Orleans, we probably don't have anything in common). I will help you find all the gems. As a guest, I'm considerate and appreciative of all that you do. Life motto? I work hard, live hard and play hard.

Durante tu estadía
I'm your hostess with the mostest! I'd love to be your personal concierge, seeing as I am a bit of an expert on all that makes New Orleans one of the best cities in the world. That said, I want you to have your own adventures, too, so I'll leave it up to you as to how much assistance you'll need. At the very least, I'll definitely give you a rundown of what's awesome to check out (and what to avoid). If no assistance is needed, I'm happy to just let you explore the city as you see fit! Please note that sometimes I am traveling for work, so even though I'll be in regular touch, my partner, Danny may take over the house management. Either way, one of us or the other will be able to help you out when you need it.
