Howdy and Welcome to the Wild West Hilltop Hideaway!

Start your morning off with a cup of coffee or tea in Prescott’s fresh mountain air on one of three decks - you might even see an animal.

The Hilltop Hideaway is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath with a full kitchen that sleeps six.

Whiskey Row and the Rodeo are less than 4 miles away, and Starbucks , Walmart and major food stores are a couple minutes from the house, (or a nice 5K if you’re so inclined for some high altitude training).

El espacio
Imagine pounding a winding dirt road to your very own private retreat outside of the big city. The Hilltop Hideaway offers 360 degree views, including Granite Mountain, Thumb Butte, reaching as far out to AZ’s tallest peak, Mt Humphrey’s up in Flagstaff.

A Quick History
Nicknamed “Everybody’s Hometown,” Prescott (“Preskitt like biscuit”) has been inhabited for over 9,000 years. The earliest inhabitants were thought to be ancestors of the Yavapai Indian tribe, who still reside in the area on bordering reservation lands. In 1864, Prescott was founded in response to interest by Congress and President Lincoln in the area’s mineral resources. The town has constantly battled fires, including its biggest one in 1900 which resulted in the loss of most of downtown. Fortunately, no lives were taken and the area was rebuilt, with many of those buildings still standing today.

Prescott’s Claims to Fame

On the 4th of July, 1888 Prescott became home to the World’s Oldest Rodeo, which currently attracts over 50,000 people a year, larger than the town’s population. The town also has two notable outdoor races: the Whiskey Row Marathon and the Whiskey 50, which challenges athletes from around the country. Prescott’s Courthouse is host to a variety of events, including live music and art shows most weekends in the summer.

During Christmas, the town gathers to light up the Courthouse. and we have the wonderful Acker Night with musical entertainment, dancing and lots of holiday spirit as part of our town to raise funds for music scholarships for our local rising musicians. Acker Night has over 150 performer groups that stage themselves in over 100 stores and restaurants to entertain the locals and visitors who are walking through the streets of down town Prescott. You can hear everything from country bands, folk duos, Classical strings to barbershop quartets and just about any other genre one can name.

Just a few day adventures from Prescott we recommend while you’re visiting…
Granite Dells -15 minutes
Jerome - around 1 hr drive
Sedona - around 1.5 hr drive
Grand Canyon - around 2.5 hr drive

Pets are not allowed at any time.

We do not accept check outs to be on holidays.

Acceso de los huéspedes
You’ve got access to the whole house !

Otros aspectos a destacar
This property is located off a dirt road. Our driveway is paved, but we do not recommend large vehicles like RVs and horse trailers as there is not enough room to turn around in the drive way.

We do not supply firewood. There is a Walmart down the road and many other stores in the vicinity that have firewood.

This is desert and there is a dust. You can clean a surface and 10 minutes later see dust on it. Welcome to Arizona.

My favorite thing to do is watch the sunrises and sunsets from the deck. During monsoon season, the skies light up with lightning and during clear nights the star watching is phenomenal (hooray for no big city light pollution!). We are close to some great local coffee shops and trails.

Howdy! I love the Southwest and have a home here in Prescott, AZ, but am constantly on the road working at different events. If I'm your host, I'd love to share with you my favorite trails in the area! and if I'm your guest, I'll probably ask you for local mountains to climb and coffee shops to check out :) Favorite places include the Grand Canyon and Lapland (North Pole, Finland).
