Normas de la casa
Este alojamiento no es adecuado para niños (de 2 a 12 años), y el anfitrión no admite mascotas y no permite fumar ni celebrar fiestas.
The studio Erika is a modest, functional non-smoking studio, next to my parents' Hotel Alpina, where you'll be having breakfast. It's perfect for up to two travellers.

A mere 5 min walk away from the local bus or train, you're a stone-trow away from busy Interlaken with all amenities (bus and train take you there in under 10 minutes).

The Erika is situated in a calm residential family back-street where we all greet one another. It's our rural culture and we appreciate you doing the same.

El espacio
Rooms
The Studio Erika is equipped with a double bed, a kitchenette inkl. fridge and microwave and an En-suite shower/toilet. Pretty much everything you need for your stay.

Location
Situated in a calm village back-street overlooking mountain lake Brienz, it's a stone-throw away from Interlaken, the regional gateway for all things exciting. But it is still a quaint, authentic little Swiss village to experience.

Cooking
Use the kitchenette to heat up something or cook a little meal.
And please tidy-up things before you leave.

Breakfast
Upon request you can order a breakfast table at the adjacent Hotel Alpina which belongs to my parents. Cost are CHF 22.-- / person. Please note that in our culture, we consider it wasteful to leave plates full of food. Also, do not use the breakfast for your take-away snacks.

Non-Smoking
Built entirely from local pine wood on a stone basement, smoking is not permitted in the Chalet Erika or around it. You can smoke on the terrace of the Hotel Alpina next door, overlooking Lake Brienz. Place cigarette butts in the ashtrays provided, not on the ground or into the woods as the pollute the environment.

Acceso de los huéspedes
Getting here
Hop on the bus, train or fetch a taxy to reach Ringgenberg. If you choose the bus, get off at 'Ringgenberg Post' follow the bus' direcion for 100 Meter and you'll see the Hotel Alpina signpost directing you into the 'Beundenstrasse'. Leisurely follow the road for 300 Meter and you'll see find the Chalet Saali adjacent to the Chalet Hotel Alpina.

Check-in / out
We need you to arrive before at the Chalet before 7 PM, that way my parent do not have to stay up late for your arrival. And we will ask you to depart by 11 AM at the end of your stay. Check- in is from 3 PM onwards. And yes, you can store your luggage if necessary.

Car Parking
You can park your car in front of the Chalet. Enter “Beundenstrasse 45, Ringgenberg, Switzerland” into your Sat Nav and it will get to the right place.

Grocery Shopping
There is a local grocery shop in our village that is open 7 days a week. Located at the end of the village towards Interlaken, it is a mere 10-minute walk away. Just ask for the ”Röthlisberger” Grocery Shop. Everybody knows it.

WiFi
You will have access to free WiFi

Otros aspectos a destacar
Switzerland is quite unique to visit and to live in. And we’d like it to stay so. Hence here are a few notes on how to best blend in as a tourist or visitor, respecting our culture

Greetings
You are staying in a quiet, residential family street where we greet one another. It would be lovely if you did the same with a ‘hello’ or ‘good morning’ even if you don’t know the person.

Also, it is considered friendly, to say hello in the dining room where you’ll be having breakfast.

Keep it nice
During your stay, we ask you to keep the Chalet tidy and clean. Please do not litter the rooms and use the rubbish bin to throw away things. It is not a hotel, just our home.

If you have to dispose something that is smelly, then please take the rubbish bag and place it into the container behind the Alpina. Also note that some of the furniture is antique and unique that cannot be replaced.

Littering
We take great care of our environment, hence it is so clean and pretty. That is why every household, every village or town makes a great effort to recycle paper, pet bottles, batteries, plastic and more. Therefore, please do not litter our beautiful landscape.

Car Engines
We switch the car engine off while standing in order not to pollute the air / environment. It is actually forbidden by law. Please respect this not to run into a fine.

Evening calmness
You will notice, that with the setting of the sun, things go quiet from 8 PM onwards. This is the rural life as villagers settle to rest for the day to come. We therefore ask you to refrain from unnecessary loud interactions (shouting, slamming car doors, music etc.).

Having travelled a fair bit, I have to confess that summertime in the Bernese Oberland is unique and quite hard to beat. What other place brings together most amazing alpine excursions and pristine mountain lakes with rich local traditions and a broad range of modern sports activities?

Guten Tag
You'll be staying in a little village with old-fashioned habits. So don't be surprised with people will actually look at you, say 'Guten Tag' or 'Hello'... and strike up a friendly chat.

We all know each other and would find it rude to pass even a stranger without a greeting word. So don't feel shy, just say 'hi'...

Having grown-up in this little picturesque, laid-back Swiss village, I've also spent some solid time in one of Europe's most intense metropolis. Savouring the local peace, authenticity and reinvigorating nature of my origins more than ever, I felt like sharing this priviledge with friends and the more discerened traveller. Guess it's all about sharing what's precious, personal... with people who treasure this accordingly. There you go. If you need to know more, drop us a mail. AkC
