Unique Mid-century Modern meets Japan in a great neighborhood full of architectural gems. Updated 1950's architect-built passive-solar artist retreat house is surrounded by trees and Japanese Gardens. Casual comfort but not sterile. Complete tranquility in an urban setting. 10 min from downtown Mpls and very close to U of MN St Paul campus. Lively, friendly neighborhood in walking distance to grocery store, gift shops, indie bookstore, wine shop, yoga studio, coffee shops and great restaurants.

It's like being in a small town in the heart of the city. Only a couple blocks to a great little enclave of independent shops: a grocery store, gift shops, bookstore, wine shop, post office and several great restaurants. There is a nature preserve across the street behind the seminary that is a great place for a walk in the woods. My home is just blocks from St. Paul U of MN campus. Voted best neighborhood for architecture in all the Twin Cities.

I am a fine art photographer, photo workshop instructor, publisher of Shots Magazine and lover of strong coffee & loud music that travels constantly. I love beauty in many forms and am very influenced by Japanese style, gardens and architecture. My house and cabins reflect my interest in Mid-Century modern, ecologically sustainable architecture and the decor is a blend of Native American, Japanese and Eastern spirituality. Durante tu estadía
I will be out of town on assignment, teaching a photo workshop, or at my cabin (the Trade River Retreat Center- also on Airbnb) when the house is available, but am always accessible via email or cell phone for any questions. I have an employee sometimes working in my office downstairs and a caretaker living down there. The office is in a completely separate apartment with its own entrance, kitchen and bathroom. They do not have access to the rest of the house but will let me know of any parties or suspicious activities happening upstairs.
