Welcome to YURNGA, aboriginal for "Big View".

"Tamborine Mountain Retreat" ( Yurnga) is a secluded Mountain Retreat, architect designed, located in a rain forest setting with a big view overlooking the Northern End of the Gold Coast. The house sits on a huge 3 acre block, complete with its' own rain forest and rolling green pastures. It is a unique sub tropical setting.
Hear our resident Whipbird- he is reclusive but sure makes his presence felt, in fact you can enter his environment and really feel his call, as you stroll through the short walk in the Retreats private rainforest.
The address is "chic & ritzy". If glass walkways and glass ceilings are to your liking this is your location. If entering the Japanese style bath house by a revolving door is to your liking, this is also your location.
Share your breakfast with a kookaburra- sometimes they take pole position on the decks, but be careful.... given half a chance they like to take more than their share, especially if its a nice juicy steak.

MAIN HOUSE:
* Open plan lounge & dining room with air conditioning and with rain forest and coastal views.
* Cosy potbelly fire sits in the large fireplace.

* 2 en-suited bedrooms.
Master bedroom which is air conditioned, has a super comfortable king sized bed with en suite accessed through a glass walkway where the spa looks out over the fabulous view and the shower, toilet and bidet adjoin.

Second bedroom is at the other end of the house, also air conditioned, and is equipped with a queen sized bed, 2 walls of glass giving mountain views and an adjoining bathroom which also has a wall of windows.

BUNK HOUSE:
The Bunk House is connected to the Main House by an raised wooden walkway.
It has 2 air conditioned bedrooms and a bathroom between the 2. The bathroom has a glass ceiling which looks up to the green of the forest.
The bunkhouse sleeps a total of 4 people.
It is private, and separate from the Main House.

Basic Price quoted for the property is for up to 4 people,(King Bed and Queen Bed) using the Main House only.(Use of the Bunk House is an extra cost). When booking for 5 or more adults, at least 1 bedroom of the bunkhouse is automatically included.

Come and stay in a Mountain House designed by an award winning architect.
Be greeted on arrival by a complimentary bottle of wine. Sit on the verandah and sip your complimentary wine or a nice cup of coffee.
Enjoy the spa bath looking out over the Coast, the soft fluffy towels and the fine bed linen. A serene experience.
Guest Book Comments:
"what a fantastic time we have had here @ the Retreat. to wake up and have a breathtaking view towards the coast, across the lush green mountains while sipping your cuppa- no cares or worries- the world can pass by quietly- I didn't notice. The nights are great- peaceful and dark. For a person who works 7 days/week, I have been totally relaxed- done nothing except enjoy my " Retreat", and all that Mt Tamborine can offer." ....And there are many more...

Tamborine Mountain is part of the Scenic Rim. Everywhere you turn you will see mountains. In 1908 Queensland's first National Park was declared- Witches Falls on Tamborine Mountain.
.Australia's most accessible World Heritage-listed rainforests are spread throughout the 8 National Parks of the Scenic Rim. The natural landscape is stunning!
It is a world of sub-tropical, eucalyptus and cycad rainforest featuring an abundance of easy walks and magnificent views of the Gold Coast and the national parks of The Scenic Rim.

There is much to do and see:

The Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk puts you in the canopy with the wildlife. This is in the top 2 attractions on the Mountain, the other being the Glow Worm Caves.

If you are a daredevil, you can hitch a ride with a local hang glider, or you can just enjoy being an onlooker.
Meander down Gallery Walk, a run of intriguing shops, restaurants, art galleries.

If food and wine are more to your taste, visit the Cheese Factory, or The Belgian Chocolate Shop, or one of the Fudge Shops, or the very popular, boutique, Fortitude Brewery , the Distillery or the Wineries.
Buy some locally grown organic veggies, a bunch of native flowers, or a coffee.

Stay a day or 2, a week or a month, you will not be disappointed!

D.H.Lawrence.

The location is tranquil and the views across the rolling pasture to the Coast, and having the rain forest in your back yard with the resultant bird life.
Yes there is neighbours on either side, but both also have acreage size blocks and have not normally been an intrusion.
