23 Degrees North overlooks Lake Superior in beautiful Bayfield, named one of America's best coastal small towns by USA Today's 10Best. This family home has been newly renovated for guests with a nautical theme because of the family's rich history of life on Lake Superior.

Bayfield is the gateway to the 22 Apostle Islands (AINL) and a hub for visitors who want to sail, kayak, take in the arts and culture, enjoy the bounty of local fruits and berries, and many local festivals.

El espacio
23 Degrees North gets it's name from the family's connection to Rocky Island (one of the Apostle Islands) and the family's abundant history of work/life on Lake Superior. Five generations have enjoyed life on Rocky Island where the family still has a cabin. The compass bearing from the family dock in Bayfield to the dock on Rocky is 23 Degrees nautical North, thus the name. The home is filled with memories and keepsakes from life on Lake Superior and Rocky Island. The Nourse family was one of the founding families in Bayfield and at times, you may see a painting or two of a Nourse ancestor, Bessie, at the Bayfield Heritage Museum. Enjoy your time at 23 Degrees North stepping back in time with the history of our family but thoroughly enjoying the present with all the activities available in the area.

Acceso de los huéspedes
There is a pole barn, old brownish/red shed, and white garden type shed on the property - they are private and only for the owner's use - thanks for respecting our privacy!

Otros aspectos a destacar
There is much to do in Bayfield and a great starting point is the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce (https://www.bayfield.org/). They will connect you with places to eat, things to do, trails to hike, and beaches to explore. You will run out of time before you ever run out of things to do!

Most pictures of the Apostle Islands used on our site are from the National Park Service https://www.nps.gov/media/photo/gallery.htm

Though the address is Trailer Court Road, we are NOT in the trailer court! 23 Degrees North is set back on a private drive on 7.5 acres with a lovely view of Lake Superior.

We love the north woods, cooler climates, outdoor activities and doing medical missions. One of our favorite activities is kayaking the Brule River (and cross-country skiing!). Northern Wisconsin offers myriad of outdoor activities - we hope you thoroughly enjoy your stay with us! We have used several U.S. Airbnbs as well as when traveling internationally. We are sold on the idea of staying at people's homes. We have had great experiences. Enjoy yourself, relax and be refreshed!
