Built around 1600 this traditional welsh stone and slate cottage has oodles of charm and history. Well placed close to the town centre it is handy for eating and drinking out as well as being able to walk out into the surrounding countryside within minutes of leaving your front door.

El espacio
When you arrive at Y Gelli (the Grove) you will have your own parking space in front of the garage. You enter the cottage through the conservatory, a great space to drink a glass of wine and read a book.
The large lounge has plenty of space to relax, watch TV, play games and dine. The large leather corner suite as well as having a comfortable recliner also has a very substantial double sofa bed built in and we provide enough bedding to ensure that as well as the four people who can sleep in the bedrooms upstairs there is also space for two to sleep on the sofa bed. The traditional wooden beams were once part of a sailing ship and the inglenook fireplace is almost a room on its own. The property was once a "Friends meeting house" used by the Quakers who had a big link to the history of the town.
If you are not eating out at one of the many fine restaurants and bars in the town you will enjoy using the well equipped kitchen with range cooker and plenty of equipment. Beyond the kitchen there is a downstairs washroom and toilet and then a small court yard that is big enough and sheltered enough to sit out in and use the BBQ and cooking utensils provided.
Upstairs you will find more low beams and crooked floors, so mind your head! There is a large King size double room with a substantial dressing room off it that could be used to accommodate a travel cot. There is also a double bedroom.
The bathroom is full of Victorian charm and provides a delightful slipper bath to soak in after a days walking or mountain biking and there is also a separate spacious walk in shower.

Dolgellau, Reino Unido

Dolgellau (pronounced Doll-geth-lie) is an ancient Welsh town that used to be the county town of Meirionnydd. It has a busy and attractive main square only 2 minutes from the cottage, where you will find charming individual shops, great places to eat and drink as well as buses to most parts of North Wales. It has quite a continental feel to it. The back streets that surround the main square are a maze of quaint and pretty traditional stone cottages linked together through higgledy-piggledy streets and alleys. Great to explore. Or local mountain is Cader Idris, Wlaes' second most climbed mountain after Snowdon...with good is very accessible and has unparalleled views from the top you can see most of Wales from Anglesey to the Breacon Beacons....on a good day you can also see the Wicklow mountains 100 miles away in Ireland. As well as great mountains, rivers, lakes and waterfalls, there is the National Mountain biking centre at Coed y Brenin, only 15 minutes drive away and its only twenty minutes to fantastic beaches and the seaside at Barmouth, Beyond Barmouth you can Explore the World Heritage site at Harlech Castle and it stands looking out over Cardigan Bay. For fishing village charm take a visit to Aberdovey. ...full of colourful cottages overlooking the harbour and beach. For the more adventourous, white water rafting, Zipwire and canyoning are within easy reach and for younger explorers King Arthur's Labyrinth is waiting in caves only 15 minutes drive away and there are any number of fantastic historic narrow gauge steam railways to try out. But at the end of your day you will be pleased to know that there is a friendly local around the corner - The Unicorn- selling great local beer as well as T H Roberts for fab coffee and cakes in the most quirky of settings and for the best Taps in the UK go to Tafarn y Gader.
