This is our only suite. Enjoy pristine mountain views, en-suite bathroom with blue-stone jacuzzi, direct access to the Lodge's wood deck with spa: cedar hot tubs & sauna overlooking the spectacular Río Azul (think Caribbean blue in the heart of Patagonia!), along with all Lodge amenities. Included in your rate is our hearty breakfast buffet. This is the perfect choice for couples coming to El Bolsón to explore beyond road's end.

El espacio
This special suite is located upstairs in the beautiful main Lodge which boasts direct access to our private beach on the Azul River, cedar hot tubs & sauna, and unlimited hiking in the Río Azul Wilderness Area- all 80,000 acres of it. Spend a night or two at the Lodge before heading out with a light daypack for two or three days in the backcountry. On your return find waiting for you a sumptuous, and well earned, freshly prepared evening meal- often traditional Argentine BBQ- along with steaming hot tubs to cap off your legendary experience in the mountains. Around the evening fire with a glass of Malbec, the moment may arise to share with other like minded tavelers some of those harrowing tales of the Azul...

Acceso de los huéspedes
Common areas for guest enjoyment include our traditional mountain lodge set amidst carefully maintained grounds.  The Lodge is made of hand-hewn logs (yes, oxen drawn from the mountains) and hand plastered straw-bale walls creating a dramatic yet cozy feel.  The Lodge is warmed by a majestic "Finnish contra-flow" fireplace.  Soft leather seating provides guests with just the right dose of comfort.  Guests take their meals in the adjacent dining room at refectory style cedar tables and benches (all made on another farm just down the road.)  Seating space in the guest dining room is ample and allows a choice for privacy amongst couples, or a more communal vibe for those who prefer that. Within the lodge there are spots for quiet reading and contemplation (as well as a movie viewing area for those who just can’t do without!)  We offer massage by appointment, separate fees apply.

The lodge grounds feature exploratory walking paths, a front porch with Adirondack chairs, and of course the main “food gardens”- that’s where our chef gathers much of what is served from the kitchen: your greens and tubers, fruits for breakfast jam and sauces, grains, herbs for the chimichurri...  The lodge outdoor BBQ is built from native stone and features the traditional Cruz (for roasting a whole animal) and Parrilla (for grilling the accompanying chorizos & morcillas.) Of note: organic meats and dairy are from our neighbor's free range animals.  All of our grounds activities are there for you to sample, especially at times of harvest, if that’s what you fancy.

Lastly, and most importantly, is the amazing Wilderness Area that surrounds us here at La Confluencia with its miles and miles of well marked hiking trails.  In case our 700 acres are not enough, adjacent and directly accessible, lies infinity. Not to be overlooked are the Refugios - small mountain trekking huts eliminating the burden of hiking with and putting up a tent and the like each night. The Refugios provide weary hikers with essentials like hot meals, comfy mattresses, some cheerful conversation and homemade beer.

Most of our guests come to Patagonia because they love the wilderness, but sans the bugs and people predators.  The Rio Azul Wilderness Area never ceases to amaze in every way, AND is virtually free of mosquitos,  spiders, scorpions and snakes (and no lions and tigers and bears, either.)                    .

Hi, I'm your host and cook at La Confluencia Lodge. When I stumbled on La Confluencia I knew I'd found my home: spacious country kitchen where guests can join me while I prepare meals, extensive organic gardens, range fed animals, unlimited hiking and whitewater kayaking right out the backdoor... If you're down my way, drop in...for a day or a week, I promise you the very best traditional Argentine hospitality. My motto: "When it comes to preparing healthy meals, don't go too far from the farm, and you won't go too far wrong."
