Ubicación fantástica

Idyllic 500-year-old cottage with a cosy but contemporary interior, deep in the beautiful Kent countryside. Two double bedrooms. Two bathrooms. Log burner. Fruit trees line the large garden. Located on the North Downs Way in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), with a twice-winning 'pub of the year' 200 metres away. View of hills and vineyards from the front and large open fields at the back. Great for chilling in all seasons and close to the coast.

El espacio
The cottage is proudly chintz free!

Great for weekend breaks or a base for exploring Kent. Ashford International station is 7 miles away. Wye station is 5 miles away. The M20 is about 10 minutes drive away. The coast is easily accessible, as are Kent's cute local villages, seaside towns like the resurgent Margate, Deal and Broadstairs, as well as historic Canterbury.

But the cottage is so chilled and quiet, you may never want to leave the village and see any of these other delights.

We have a big, long garden - and this being the "Garden of England', there's always something to pick, dig up the and eat, whether soft fruit, potatoes or herbs. And garden furniture to recline in. We love to watch the bats swooping from tree to tree at dusk from a deck chair, (wrapped in rugs in Winter). Because the village doesn't have street lighting, the stars on a clear night are amazing.

The kitchen is stocked with herbs, teas and cooking basics which you're welcome to use.

The cottage looks out across vineyards (famed for English sparkling wine that regularly beats Champagne in blind taste tests) to the hills of the North Downs which stretch from Dover to the southerly outskirts of London. The North Downs Way passes through the village, so it's a great stop-off or starting point if you like a walk.

The log burner is the focal point of the cottage and there is always a plentiful supply of logs and kindling (usually sourced from the back garden).

And if you actually manage to drag yourself out of the cottage, 200 metres down the road is the Five Bells pub, winner of Kent Pub of the Year twice. And it's easy to see why. Picture your idea of the perfect British pub - a cosy, hops-stuffed 'shall we just have one more for the road?' type of place. There's even a red telephone box on the tiny green outside..

We don't have a shop in the village (nearest is in the next village, a 5 minute drive away) although you can buy wine, beer, chutneys, olives and other stuff at the pub. The food is great at the pub too and they serve from breakfast time right through to the evening.

As well as an award-winning pun we also have a Grade 1 listed thousand-year-old church. Literally 2 minutes away. 30 seconds if you run... Buckingham Palace, St Paul's Cathedral and Big Ben are Grade 1 listed - it's THAT special.

We use the cottage to properly escape so we deliberately don't have a TV or WiFi. We download stuff to watch in advance. Nothing cosier than a non-buffering box set in front of a fire as it snows outside.

But if you do feel the need to connect, 3G (usually 4G) works in the village and the cottage.

We have tonnes of books and a few board games. And a digital radio. AND a hat box - containing loads of ludicrous head gear - great after a couple of glasses of wine in the award-winning pub.

There are two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The downstairs bedroom and adjoining wetroom (with shower) we call the "West Wing", as you can close the door and be separate from the rest of the house and upstairs bedroom. This works really well with two couples, so you can have a bit of privacy.

You'll forget what real life is like down here.
