The guest room is in the quietest spot of the house. There are extra blankets and towels. You have access to a private shower and bathroom. There is a very sunny kitchen room. Several books and a piano offer distractions for curious guests. Southgate area is one of Edmonton's safest, older, established neighbourhoods. A No Frills store is a 10-minute walk away, and Southgate Centre is a 30-minute walk away or a simple 5 minute bus ride. Southgate Transit terminal operates buses and a train.

There is a yoga mat and blocks for anyone. Join me for some simple restorative yoga. There is a deliberate chin-up bar just over the door leading to your downstairs room. I encourage guests to try to improve their core strength every time they pass through that door. There is a pair of 15 lb fixed dumbbells and a friendly cat. I hope you feel comfortable and enjoy the house is not a typically perfectly arranged place and I am working on organising the home. There are some juggling balls if you wish to surprise yourself and learn to juggle.

You are able to use the living room, kitchen, sun room, and the laundry machines. Let me know if you need to iron. Parking is on the street out front or you may park in the back. The back alley is pure ice, so low gear. I can pick-up and drop off guests at the airport for a fee of appx. $30 depending on time and space. Please turn the stove off after use. There is a coffee maker, coffee, tea, tea boiler, Dutch porridge, fruit, nuts, cookies. Microwave. Please keep the cast iron pans oiled. I use organic dishwashing detergent. All other rooms are off limits as well as the upstairs of the house.

I like to learn a bit about my guests, but I also respect their need for quiet. Just let me know if there is anything I can do to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I'm here most of the time.

Otros aspectos a destacar
Please turn the hot water tap on the shower first and let it run at least 20 seconds to warm, then you can turn the cold water tap to find the temperature you like. I have new toothbrushes if guests have forgotten theirs and toothpaste. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, kleenex tissues, paper towels are provided.

This is a well-established, 1960s era neighbourhood. It is calm, quiet, and well-maintained. The Southgate area is known for its low crime rate and calm neighbourhoods. From Southgate Transit Station, you are just 3 stops away from the University station and about a 20 minute ride away from the city center. I have city and bus route maps and Edmonton's Vue Weekly Magazine which provides weekly information about cultural events, music, lectures, film, discussions going on during your stay. I highly recommend you explore the beautiful River Valley trails or the nearby Whytemud Trails where beavers and Owls may greet you. Edmonton is a lovely city with lower pollution levels than other cities. In wintertime, you may be excited to see the Northern Dancing Lights in the night skies as Edmonton is Canada's northernmost city!
