"Simply excellent hosts in a stunning location. So friendly and accommodating, facilities are great, room very spacious and bed comfy. Pat and Marions house is beautiful, and the views superb. July 4th night we were sat with our hosts and other guests around the fire pit watching the local and bar harbor fireworks.Morning coffee is very nice with tasty treats. Pat and Marion have excellent local knowledge, would highly recommend staying here.”

Our home is steeped in the history and tradition of East Sullivan and was previously the site of the Acadia View Lodge during the earlier part of the last century. Over the past fourteen years we have completely renovated it in a way that captures the idyllic and unique ambiance of maritime Maine.

Our house features three upstairs private rooms for rent on a daily basis:

1. The Log Cabin Room- Farm and Forest View- Approx. $70-85

Bar Harbor Lights Room- Mountain, Bays and Bar Harbor Views-Approx. $80-90

Lighthouse Room- Approx. $60-$70 with exceptions.

Each room offers a queen-sized bed with luxury bedding, towels, shared bath with shower/tub, hairdryer and sundries, internet, and access to a hospitality table. You are also welcome to rest on our beautiful front porch.

Our spread includes an apple and pear orchard, fenced kitchen garden with herbs, raspberry plants, blueberry patch and grape arbor, potatoes and corn planting in season and various wildflowers including Lupine, Daisies and Tansy.

We are happy to meet and great you and provide as much help as possible in getting around the area.

Please note that we do have two small dogs; a cockapoo named Barkley and Twinkie, our 6 lb Cavapoo both of whom are non- allergenic.

We are located amongst several charming fishing villages and you can walk to the lobster shack at the end of our street for a full Lobster Maine dinner, Lobster or Clam Roll, or even just an ice cream cone. There are several excellent full service restaurants in the Schoodic Area which we can happily refer you to. Kayak and bike rentals are available for touring the Acadia National Park at nearby beautiful Schoodic Point. Or take a day trip by Ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor across Flanders Bay and Frenchman's Bay beyond. Explore our many local ponds including Tunk Lake, Little Tunk Pond or Donnell Pond run by the State of Maine where you might catch site of a moose! Or Climb Schoodic Mountain for breathtaking views.

You will need a car in rural Maine. However there is a Ferry to Bar Harbor from Winter Harbor, a nearby Lobster Fishing Village. A Lobster Shack is within walking distance.

There are two large driveways one of which can accommodate a camper.

"ACADIA LIGHTS COTTAGE" and "KINGFISHER COTTAGE" Whether you are hoping to get away from the snow and cold in the winter months, or seek a locale that lets you experience cooler southern breezes during the heat of the summer, we have an AirBnB room or property that can make that dream come true. We welcome you to experience a vacation along the magnificent granite coast of Downeast Maine with all of its many opportunities for outdoor adventures such as hiking or biking the mountains on Mount Desert Island and the Schoodic Penninsula, kayaking the many awesome ponds, or ambling along the quaint streets of Bar Harbor. Then, return home at night to the beauty, peace and tranquility of our place on Flanders Bay where you can enjoy the “lights” of Bar Harbor from our front porch, or an occasional campfire once the sun has set on the starlit Maine sky. In the winter months plan a getaway to bask in the sun on the central Florida beaches of New Smyrna Beach. You might decide to take your car onto our ride-on beach on the famous Flagler Avenue, explore the historic canal street district, plan a day antiquing, or take a boat tour on the grand Indian River Inter-Coatal waterway. This area is well known for it’s delicate, unique and protected marine and mangrove eco-system. Our cottage sits on the Indian River Canal with a view of the estuary and is often visited by wading and marsh birds. How do you decide if our places are right for your wishes and budgets? We are pleased to refer you to our many guest reviews which have established us as long term “Superhosts” . We believe that the reason for our continued receipt of the super host badge is because we sincerely love what we do as hosts. It is a great joy and privilege to welcome people from all walks of life, and from many many countries around the world to share in the natural beauty of the places that we have chosen to call home. While we are happy to share “tips” about the area, having lived here for 17 years, we also respect that guests need their privacy and allow people to simply go about their vacation at will. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I guess you could say we like diversity, nature, and wildlife, as well as the history and culture that specific locations provide, both in the northern reaches of the great Atlantic, and the southern borders of the fabulous Florida eco-systems. We urge you to look at our Guidebook of Downeast Maine which you will find under the listing for Bar Harbor Area Home! "It was a great experience! Marion and Pat are wonderful people that made our Maine escape really unforgettable. Beautiful and very clean house with a fantastic view on a mountain and bay, great location close to all attraction ls, morning coffee and cakes from Marion, campfire in the evening from Pat were just awesome. We would definitely come back again!”

Our Air BnB is designed for the active traveler who is out and about, for the most part, during the morning and afternoon hours. Sometimes we have to run errands briefly during the day but we always work with our guests as to their daily plans if that involves leaving or arriving particularly late or early for whatever reason.

Our philosophy is to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. After sixteen years as residents we have the lay of the land in Downeast Maine and have sampled most of the fun outdoor activities that you will be wanting to enjoy. We love to help and to be a resource for you whether it is finding a restaurant, or helping with a recommendation on the best Kayak guides around. We also have an abundance of books and brochures on the various hikes, and of course all of the many recommendations of our guests!

Please note that we have a dog; a cockapoo named Barkley who is non allergenic.
