Experience living tiny in this lovingly built small scale space that includes everything you need for a cozy getaway. Return from a day of hiking in Acadia National Park to soak in the clawfoot tub or relax on the tiny deck, with a glimpse of the ocean.

This 20ft x 8ft tiny home is situated in a backyard, a short walk from Manset Town Dock and Peter Trout Tavern, and a five-minute drive from Southwest Harbor and parts of Acadia National Park (about 20 min to longer hikes and the loop road).

El espacio
This 130sq.ft. house features a furnished kitchen/living room area with a two-burner gas stove, instant pot and toaster for cooking. The sleeping loft with skylight is accessible via ladder. The luxurious (by tiny house scale) bathroom contains a clawfoot tub for soaking and on-demand hot water. Outside is a gas grill, tiny deck, and dorm fridge. There is also a shared backyard and garden area.

Otros aspectos a destacar
Staying in a tiny house is somewhere in between camping and a room in a bed and breakfast. There is regular plumbing, hot water, and a gas stove. But, since the space is tight, some things are out of the ordinary. For this reason, we ask that you THOROUGHLY read and understand the following details.

___ The bed is located in a loft, which is accessible ONLY by ladder. Please see pictures and be sure you are comfortable climbing up to the bed.

___ There is no bathroom sink. You can use the tub faucet or the kitchen sink in its place.

___ The tiny house is located in the backyard of our home. You will have your own space, and we will stay out of your way as much as possible, but we do live on the property and share the driveway.

___ We allow adult dogs with prior approval. Absolutely no puppies, sorry. (We love them, but we’ve had too many bad experiences)

___ We have a friendly 2-year-old Plot Hound named Lou. She's a gentle sweetheart but may bark before she meets you. She’s great with other dogs and would love to meet and play with yours.

___ Due to our insurance policy, we must inform you that we cannot allow you to use the wood stove

___ During the spring (before mid-June) and fall (after mid-September) the tiny house can be chilly in the night and early morning. Please do your best to close all windows. We have plenty of extra blankets and an extra space heater available on request. An electric heater is located in the bathroom.

Ubicación

Southwest Harbor, Maine, Estados Unidos

The tiny house is located in Southwest Harbor, Maine. It is 25 minutes from Bar Harbor and the main part of Acadia National Park, and only 5 minutes from less-traveled parts of the park like Wonderland, Acadia Mountain and Long Pond.

Shore Road boasts views of picturesque Manset Harbor with the backdrop of Acadia's majestic mountains. Here you can take a ferry ride to a sunset dinner at the farm-to-table Islesford Dock Restaurant, or rent your own sailboat and explore Northeast Harbor across the sound. Mount Desert is home to endless outdoor adventures including peerless hiking and carriage trails, beaches, and lakes. Enjoy swimming at the pristine Echo Lake, golfing at the Causeway Club (open to non-members), or lobster eating wherever! Bicycle and kayak rentals are available right in town, or head to Bar Harbor for rock climbing or a whale watch.

For those not familiar with the area, Southwest Harbor (a 3 minute drive away) is an absolute gem, and Manset its most historic and beautiful seaside neighborhood, home of the famous Hinckley Marina and Boatyard, where some of the world's most iconic yachts spend the summer. Take in the sunset over cocktails at the historic Claremont Hotel's Boat House Restaurant. Enjoy some of the island's best fine dining at Red Sky, casual outdoor dining at Beal's Lobster Pound, or take a break from lobster with some traditional rustic Mexican fare and margaritas at XYZ (a five minute walk).

Southwest also features gift shops, galleries and cafes, as well as a bakery, an excellent wine shop, and a boutique grocery. This is the quiet side of the island; all the beauty of Acadia without the volume of tourist and cruise ship traffic you will find in Bar Harbor. On nearby Beech, Acadia, and Western Mountains, you will find old growth forests, stunning views of Echo Lake, Long Pond and Blue Hill Bay, and rarely encounter another hiker before noon. Just down the road, Ship Harbor and Wonderland offer casual strolls to some of Acadia's most precious coastline vistas. Don't forget to visit Bass Harbor Head Light, the most photographed lighthouse in New England!
