A dónde irás

Hastings Point, Nueva Gales del Sur, Australia

Hastings Point is a popular holiday destination, ideally located halfway between Gold Coast airport and Byron Bay. All along the coastal road are endless vibrant and funky beach villages with quaint shops and a multitude of great restaurants and cafes and all the other amenities one could want. The Tweed Coast Road hugs an endless pristine coastline with white sandy beaches that draw in surfers and swimmers from near and far. Cabarita Beach just 2 minutes down the road was ranked as Australia’s top beach in 2019! Inland you’ll find the equally quaint hinterland villages, such as Bangalow, Murwillumbah and Clunes, to name a few, that will take you on a beautiful drive along meandering country roads that enter into semi-tropical lush bush land. If hiking or nature is your thing there are endless scenic spots for hikers of every level, including Springbrook National Park, Mount Warning, Minyon Falls and Byron lighthouse walk, or simply step outside and follow the endless kilometres of beach while keeping an eye out for the frequently sighted whales and dolphins. Right outside your doorstep is a path to the creek which attracts fishing and crabbing enthusiasts, paddle boarders, kayakers, swimmers and bird watchers. The creek is home to an abundance of spectacular bird life including osprey, pelicans, beach curlews, oyster catchers, and kookaburras to name a few. A 2 minute walk across the street will take you to the sand and waves and some of the best surfing and swimming in the area. The Hastings General store has a great array of hot food, and outdoor seating which overlooks the creek and ocean, and the neighbouring BP has an extensive selection of fresh produce and other supplies. 2 minutes’ drive down the road is Cabarita, with Woolies, chemist, butcher, wine shop and all other amenities.

A Canadian-born adventurer, I always dreamed of trading in the cold winters for a life by the beach, surrounded by nature - and now I have! I have loved creating a home that is welcoming, tranquil and 'beachy', and yet surrounded by funky shops, endless things to do and all the necessary amenities. With amazing birdlife, views of the creek, ocean and mountains, it's the perfect backdrop for my work as a photographer, writer and wellness coach. I love sharing my space, and welcoming people from all walks of life to enjoy this little piece of paradise. It also gives me an excuse to keep travelling and exploring all that this beautiful region has to offer.
