Sweeping views of a forever wild meadow on this expansive corner property with a private vibe yet near the main road to walk, bike or drive to Woodstock village only 1.5 miles away.

Good Wifi, 400 mbps.

Outdoor living on a large rear deck with a propane gas grill & small fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows.

In winter, there is a sauna and woodburning stove. Just a 30 min. drive to Hunter or Belleayre for skiing.

Minimum stay is 7 nights. Reductions for 1 week & 4 week stays.

El espacio
The large great room has two seating areas. One end of the room has two sofas nestled in front of the woodburning stove. The other end is the tv area and has a new full size sleep sofa.

The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, flatware, pots and pans plus a new dishwasher, electric range top, microwave, a large toaster oven, coffee maker, electric tea kettle and blender. The wall oven works though it is old, however, the control panel is difficult to read so there is a separate oven themometer inside the oven as well as a meat thermometer. The outdoor grill, toaster oven and microwave are also available. The oven will be replaced when the kitchen is renovated. There are some spices, vinegar, oil, coffee, a variety of teas, hot chocolate, sugar, Splenda, powdered creamer and oatmeal packets.

Each bedroom has a queen size bed and large closets with plenty of hangers

Linens and towels are provided as well as soap and shampoo. There are mini-splits that provide quiet heat and air conditioning with a separate control for the living room and each bedroom. Good WiFi even works outside. The large driveway provides ample parking.

A dónde irás

Woodstock, Nueva York, Estados Unidos

Less than a five minute walk from the house on the other side of the field is Saw Kill Creek and Little Deep where sunbathing and swimming are popular. A short hike from there, perhaps one third mile, is Big Deep waterfall.

Some of these places have closed permanently because of the pandemic. Please check first on the websites or by phone before you go. You can also check to Woodstock Chamber of Commerce Website

Some state parks are allowing hiking. I saw people using the “Rail Explorers” track recently so I presume they are operating. Check with each one.

BIG DEEP, Woodstock-This is a popular swimming area, with a pretty jade lagoon surrounded by forest.  The parking area is just a road side pull off. It is off Rte 212 just a 2 minute drive from the house. Casablanca Lane is very close to it, so you can keep an eye out for that.  Casablanca Lane is a private road, with no public access to the swimming area.  Please use the lane as a landmark only, and do not drive down this road.  The entrance to the parking area is east of Casablanca Lane.  Once you park, you follow a well worn trail down to the water. There is a rope swing and a small upper area as well.  The water seems to be about 4ft. deep.

BELLEAYRE BEACH in Pine Hill is a great way to spend half a day with kids in summer – Lake with life guard, sandy beach, paddle boats for rent, picnic tables and playground and lovely views. Go to Phoenicia and then go west about 10 minutes (12 miles) on Rt 28. Entrance will be on the left. There is a $15 per car entry fee. $10 if you have a NYS Empire Pass.

RAIL EXPLORERS Trolleys that you pedal around on railroad tracks along the Esopus River for 8 miles. Rt 28 near Phoenicia.

TINKER TUBE – For teens and up. Very popular. Phoenicia. Float down the Esopus (seasonal)

The Red Onion Restaurant and Bar-1654 Rte 212, Saugerties- Excellent food in an 1840s farm house.

The Phoenician Steakhouse – go to Phoenicia and instead of making a left into town, turn right and up a small hill. It’s on the left right off Rt. 28. Make a reservation for a large group and they will set it up. Excellent steaks, chops, Italian dishes.

Joshua’s -Farm to table global cuisine in a casual atmosphere. 51 Tinker St, Woodstock

Phoenicia Diner, on Rt 28, is fabulous for breakfast or brunch but can get very crowded.

Peekamoose – Expensive foodie place. Reservations needed. Rt. 28 west of Phoenicia on the way to Belleayre.

Scribners in Hunter is a newly renovated hotel with a terrace and restaurant.

Ice Cream -Nancy's Artisanal Creamery-105 Tinker St, Woodstock.

STORY FARMS: Just 19 minutes away, has a wonderful farm stand.

WOODSTOCK BYRDCLIFF GUILD: A unique non profit arts and crafts guild in a natural setting. Schedule a walking tour to learn about their art colony history or visit their arts and crafts shop.

ANTIQUES, BROWSING: Woodstock and Tannersville (“the Painted Village”) are quirky, artsy and fun, and have interesting craft and antique shops. Also check out the galleries. Other quirky little places are Margaretville and, further west, Andes. Gorgeous drive to Andes. There is a big consignment shops in Phoenicia on the corner of Main St and 214 that sells crafts and collectibles.

KAATERSKILL FALLS – Beautiful waterfall off Rt 23A in Haines Falls (past Tannersville) but it can be crowded with tourists on a weekend and dangerous because of the slippery rocks and high elevation. It’s a workout.

DEVIL’S TOMBSTONE STATE PARK – On Rt 214 toward Hunter – Hiking and small lake.

CATSKILL INTERPRETIVE CENTER – Rt. 28 Mount Tremper. Near the Phoenicia Diner. A one-stop info center for all things Catskill. Plus a changing exhibit of local sculptures.

Menla Resort/Spa/Retreat - Pantherkill Rd, Phoenicia
Catskills Yoga House – 536 Rt 214 Chichester
