Wicket Good Road is a private apartment in a wooded/garden setting. 12 miles from Acadia National Park, 14 to Bar Harbor and tourist attractions, and five miles to Ellsworth and essentials.
Large deck with grill for dining in or out, well equipped kitchen, large screen TV, air conditioning (it can get hot in Maine, believe it or not), comfortable queen bed, large outdoor space with gardens and quiet. And great wifi!
It's a comfy base of operations for summer fun in Maine!

El espacio
About the Apartment~~
"Wide open" is first remark folks give upon entering the apartment at Wicket Good Road. Except for the one bedroom and bath, the home is one large room with loosely separated kitchen, dining and living areas.

Summer in Maine is about "outside fun". So the house has a large deck for cooking on the grill and dining. The deck overlooks a very big lawn and gardens--and our Extreme Croquet Court. If interested we'd be happy to teach you this combination of miniature golf, billiards and chess. It's great summer fun.

Living Area-
The apartment is a wide open space with connected kitchen, dining area, and living room with a separate bedroom. There are couches, easy chair, a gas fireplace, air-conditioning, floor to ceiling windows, dining area for four, widescreen TV with plenty of movie channels.
And the WIFI reception is excellent.
The Kitchen - kitchen is fully equipped for all your needs. All the dishes, pots, pans, and silverware are ready and waiting. We've tried to anticipate your needs - from lobster pot to that extra corkscrew. A supply of basic condiments and spices is stocked--so don't bother bringing those along.

Dining area has seating for four inside.

Bedroom- one comfy, Queen bed. Dressers and closet (There's also an extra queen airbed that can be set up in the living room if you have kids or guests come to visit.)
The apartment bathroom has a shower.
The laundry room has a washer and dryer.

The apartment has air conditioning, Our part of Maine has changed climate wise since my youth. Growing up we used to have about 6 "Dog Days" each summer. The last two years have averaged about 20, so I had air conditioning installed.
The home has two apartments, each with their own entrance.- I, Jack, your host, live in the other one, downstairs. I stay out of your hair and respect your privacy unless needed. I'll change a light bulb for you if needed.

Acceso de los huéspedes
Guests have access to the full apartment, gardens, lawn games and separate entrance. The only "shared" facility is the laundry (and I normally do mine on the days when the apartment is not rented)
A four night minimum stay is normally required but I will be happy to entertain requests.

Otros aspectos a destacar
Air conditioning was installed in 2016 because the amount of summer "Dog Days" with high heat is increasing. You will be comfy.
I have two very friendly cats that will be a year old at the beginning of the 2017 season. They are people friendly and tolerate other animals invading their space. They stay in my downstairs apartment most of the time but, if they see you on the deck, they will come and say hi. My guests from 2016 loved them.
Because the Maine Legislature approved the recreation use of marijuana the apartment is now 420 friendly. Outside use only, please!
Recycling, garbage and separate compost containers are provided. If you find you need me to make a "dump or recycle run" in the middle of your stay---just text me and it will be done.

Wicket Good is on a private road, in Trenton, across the street from Patten Bay which empties into the Atlantic Ocean. It's calm and peaceful but close to the natural wonders of Acadia National Park. You have complete privacy but also the option of grocery shopping 5 miles away.

Hey there, I'm a traveler like you but was born and raised on the coast of Maine. I host two properties--one a summer camp on the ocean and another full apartment, not ocean side (but close) . I'm always available with info on this beautiful area of Maine. If you need to know the best restaurants, hiking trails, dog sitters, special spots of beauty just let me know. I got the travel bug young and worked for a number of airlines over the years. Recently my winters are spent out of the country, either teaching English or Sustainable Tourism in Southeast Asia or just traveling. Maine is a glorious place in the summer and I'd be happy to point you to some wonderful points of view. Stay up and come visit, Jack

Durante tu estadía
I'm easy. Ask me questions: where to hike, swim, kayak, buy lobster, the best restaurants and evening activities. Need a light bulb changed? Text me or call and I'll be there as soon as possible.
Other than that I'll stay out of your way.
