14 The Shades consists of an open plan living, dining area and a fully fitted kitchen & two double bedrooms. Two Bathrooms. FREE uncapped Wi-Fi. 100 meters to swimming beach. Serviced Daily. There is a King-size bed in the main bedroom and twin beds in the second bedroom that can be converted into a king-size bed on request. Quality bed linen, bath and beach towels are provided.
Off the lounge, dining area are sliding doors that lead out to the garden with partial sea views. Barbeque facilities are provided. Sit out in the garden and enjoy you morning coffee while listening to the sound of the waves and watching the sun rise over the ocean.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped including an under counter oven, hob, microwave, dish washer and dryer. There is also a launderette in the complex or alternatively, your laundry can be washed and ironed for you at a small additional cost. The apartment is serviced daily except on Sundays and Public Holidays.

FREE, high speed internet access is available throughout the apartment.
DSTV (satellite television) is provided on a flat screen TV in the living room.
The apartment is air-conditioned throughout.
Secure under cover parking is provided and there is additional parking for visitors.

About the Apartment – 14 The Shades
The apartment is all on one level and is situated on the ground floor, with access to the entrance down one flight of stairs.
The main bathing beach and the magnificent promenade are approximately 100 meters from the apartment.
The apartment has DSTV (satellite TV). FREE high speed Wi-Fi internet access is provided throughout the apartment.
There is air-conditioning in the kitchen living and dining area with ceiling fans in the bedrooms.

You are spoilt for choice with a variety of restaurants, alfresco dining, bars and supermarkets, all within easy walking distance of the nearby town centre.

The Living Room
The Lounge / Dining area is beautifully furnished with comfort being a major consideration when the apartment was decorated. DSTV (satellite TV) is provided on a 40” flat screen TV.
From the lounge and dining area are sliding doors that open out onto the garden and barbeque area. Sit in the garden and enjoy your morning coffee while listening to the sound of the waves and watching the sun rise over the ocean. There are partial sea views from the garden.
Kitchen
The modern kitchen is fully equipped including an under counter oven, hob, microwave, dish washer and dryer. There is also a launderette in the complex or alternatively, your laundry can be washed and ironed for you at a small additional cost.

The Bedrooms
There are two double bedrooms with a main en-suite bathroom with a shower. There is a second bathroom with a bath for the other bedroom. The apartment sleeps a maximum of four guests with a King-size bed in the main bedroom and twin beds in the second bedroom (which can be converted into a king-size bed on request). Quality bed linen, bath and beach towels are provided.

Otros aspectos a destacar
1. Full payment is required before keys can be collected.

2. Under no circumstances do we allow students or bookings where all persons included are under the age of 25. Failure to adhere to this will result in immediate eviction with no refund.

3. In the event of a cancellation of a booking the following cancellation policy will apply:
To avoid any misunderstanding, a booking constitutes a binding contract. All guests confirming a booking are advised to take out insurance to cover the full cost of their accommodation in the event of a cancellation. We will seek compensation for any cancelled accommodation that cannot be re-let, including premature curtailment. Deposits are not refundable in the event of a cancellation or “non arrival”.

4. The maximum occupancy of four persons in the unit (4 persons) must not be exceeded under any circumstances. Failure to adhere to this will result in the extra people having to move out with immediate effect, or the booking will be cancelled and no refund given.

5. We regret no refunds on early departure.

6. The guest will be held liable for any damages or losses in the apartment. Your breakage deposit will be refunded after your departure once an inventory check is completed and all conditions are met.

7. 1 Hour Cleaning Services - Monday to Saturday – excluding Public Holidays. This service is limited to:

•Making up of beds, Cleaning of bathrooms, Sweeping all floors
•Cleaning of dishes is not included in the service

Linen and towels will be changed every 5th day (provided not on weekends).

In the event of any additional cleaning services required, kindly contact our offices to make the necessary arrangement at least 24 hours prior to wanting the service

7.2 On departure date the onus is on the guest to leave the apartment or unit in a reasonable condition. Failing which, a penalty of R500 will be deducted from the breakage deposit.

8. Should you require any maintenance services, kindly contact our office by 10H00, weekdays only

9. In the unlikely event of the apartment hired not being available for the period hired for any reason whatsoever, we reserve the right to provide alternative accommodation.

10. The Proprietor, his agent or its employees shall not be held for personal injury, death or loss/theft/damage to property that may occur during the guest's stay, on or about the Proprietor's premises. The guest/s hereby waive/s and abandon/s any claims of whatsoever nature including but not limited to that for theft, injury, death, loss or damage of whatsoever nature, against the Proprietor, whether arising from the Proprietor's default, negligence or otherwise.

11. The guest agrees to waive all rights to compensation, in respect of injury to persons or loss of or damage to property which may occur whilst on or about the Host’s premises, and agree to indemnify the Hosts/Agents in respect of all claims for personal injury or loss of or damage to property which may occur during their stay on or about the Host’s premises.

12. On departure, kindly ensure that all windows are closed, air conditioners and lights are off and all doors are locked.

13. Keys must be returned to our offices by 10:00am.

14. Keys not returned to our offices will result in an additional daily rate being charged. The guest shall be held responsible for the locksmith account if keys / remotes are mislaid, damaged or lost.

15. No Pets Allowed

16. This is a no smoking apartment and under no circumstances is smoking permitted within the apartment.

The apartment is in easy walking distance of the Umhlanga Village and several upmarket restaurants, bars, coffee shops and supermarkets. The facilities on offer are exceptional. There are numerous hotels in the immediate vicinity where children can enjoy ten pin bowling, game arcades etc.
For the water enthusiasts, there is deep sea fishing, dolphin viewing, scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing or just relaxing on the beaches or taking a long leisurely walk or a jog on the 5km beach Promenade. The award winning Pier is also a must see and was recently voted the “Best Pier in the World”.

There are several world class golf courses in the immediate vicinity.

14 The Shades is a five minute drive from Gateway, (the largest shopping and entertainment centre in the Southern Hemisphere), twenty minute drive from Durban and the International Conference Centre (I. C. C.) Private first world hospitals are a five minutes drive away by car. Sibaya Casino is only a five minute drive away.

Ushaka Marine World is just a 20 minute drive from The Shades. Take a ride in the cable car to the top of the Moses Mabhida Stadium (home of the 2010 Football Word Cup) and enjoy spectacular views of Durban and the entire coastline as far as the eye can see.

Hire a segway or a bicycle and ride along the magnificent Durban beach front promenade. (A definite “must” on your things to do)
