Be part of the Los Angeles art scene when you stay in this '70s throwback luxury loft. Designed by a local artist, this loft has too many perks to count! Not only is the location fabulous but the interior space is truly one of a kind!

El espacio
The unit is next to our home on the corner of Fountain and Virgil. Both our home and this rental are very unique. In the neighborhood they are in fact a bit of a landmark. We bought the main house 4 years ago and have been working to fix it up since. My husband is an artist and happens to be quite handy too. He did most of the work himself. He has used 90% salvaged and recycled materials and was always looking to make this space as creative as possible. For example, our fence that runs along Fountain Ave also has an 8'x 11' "art box" built into it where we exhibit art. It's even been written up in LA Weekly!

About a year ago we finally got the permit to build an art studio with a rental unit above next to our home. Upon arriving you will enter through a wrought iron gate on Virgil. You walk up our newly paved driveway and can let yourself into the front door of the unit. Open the front door and walk up a private carpeted staircase and voila, you're home! We now offer parking for one car in our driveway on the left side! :)

The space has gorgeous dark koa wood floors. A comfy queen bed sits central in the room with a midcentury freestanding fireplace nearby. All the lighting is custom and unique. There's a walk in closet with sliding mirrored doors and plenty of storage. There's even a fold out extra bed if you need it for a child or friend that needs to crash. The kitchen has everything you need from cookware to a brand new fridge! The bathroom is the absolute icing on the cake of which we are so proud! The jacuzzi hot tub is killer and the custom marble artwork that makes up the back wall was carved by my hubby. There is also a washer and dryer for you to use. Another special little perk is the cozy reading perch in the corner of the unit. It's got soft carpet and cushy pillows and is great to cuddle up in and read, have some tea or even do some computer work!

The deck has great views of downtown to the right, Silverlake ahead and the Griffith Park observatory to the left. It's private and there's a table out there so you can always have a meal and enjoy the fabulous Los Angeles (URL HIDDEN) least about 350 days of the year! :)

A dónde irás

Los Ángeles, California, Estados Unidos

This neighborhood is awesome! Within walking distance there are two movie theaters one of which is the historic Vista Theater, an Egyptian style masterpiece built in the 1920s. The Mack Sennet Studios where Charlie Chaplin started his career is three blocks away and they have great events there. Enjoy live music at the infamous Dresden with Marty and Elaine. We're in the middle of Los Feliz and Silverlake and we get the best of both worlds within walking distance. There are so many wonderful little boutiques, cafes and restaurants to choose from. There's also a supermarket just two blocks away. This unit is ideal for someone ready to walk and use public transportation in LA. We're also just minutes from the Kodak Center and all of the Hollywood hoopla you could ask for. Downtown is also super close!
