Parque
“he Parc de la Ciutadella is very idyllic and probably the greenest oasis in the megacity of Barcelona. It invites you to relax, to rebound and to go for long walks, as well as for a picnic. You can also use a rowing boat on the lake. On the grounds of the Parc de la Ciutadella, there are several attractions: the zoo, the Catalan Parliament. The Museu d'Art Modern is situated in the building of the parliament. The Zoological Museum and the Museu de Geologia are placed in the area of the park. ”

“Initially conceived to be a garden city for Barcelona’s wealthy families, the plan was aborted in 1914. Nowadays, the park holds a magic air that comes from Gaudi's personal tallent and creativity. From November to March, Park Guell is open between 08:30 AM - 06:30 AM. From April to October, it is open between 08:00 AM - 07:30 PM. A good tip to avoid crowds of tourists is to go during the night. You'll find yourself nearly alone with the park to freely explore.”

“This large park with lots of open space is also known as the Parc l'Escorxador (so named because it stands on the site of the old municipal slaughterhouse: escorxador in Catalan) and is used by visitors and locals from Barcelona's Eixample Esquerra to relax. This great urban "lung", full of possibilities, is located at the south-west end of the neighbourhood and is the perfect appetiser before you begin exploring the monumental Plaça Espanya. An artificial water channel runs parallel to Carrer Tarragona, lending coolness to this side of the Parc de Joan Miró. This is the site of Joan Miró's 22-metre-high monumental sculpture Dona i Ocell (Woman and Bird). Like the park, it was dedicated in 1983, shortly before the artist's death. There is a public library on the other side of the park, which is named after Joan Miró.”

“The Collserola Park is the largest green space in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, a territory that is under significant demographic pressure. It is limited by the valleys of the rivers Llobregat and Besòs, to the south and the north respectively, with the plain of Barcelona to the east and Vallès to the west. The Collserola mountain range covers over 8,000 hectares (seventeen kilometres long and six kilometres wide) and its highest peak is the famous Tibidabo (512 metres)”

“Carretera de les aigües is an old almost flat road used for the distribution of water to the city in 1901. It is currently a walk of about 9km at about 300m in the Collserola mountain range with the best views over the city and frequented by the Barcelona people for walking and cycling. One of the accesses with better public transport is with the funicular of Vallvidrera.”
