    Just 105 Kms from Melbourne, come visit green, rolling hills and quaint villages. We offer two couples or families our home as a gateway to country living: witness milking, feed the birds and animals; use our kitchen, vegetable garden and loungeroom.
    This separate apartment has two large bedrooms with its own entrance through the front door or the garage where you may park your car. The smaller third bedroom has bunks for two children, a table and chairs. Comfortable spa bath and separate shower, with a separate toilet and hand basin. If you are a couple, you will have this apartment to yourselves. If you are a couple travelling with another couple you and your friends will share the bathroom. If either of you have children, we have the bunk beds for two of them....any more than 6 persons and we do have other options for another two singles, or a couple prepared to have single bed accommodation, adjacent to the house for an extra charge. If you wish to cook, we have the large and fully equipped kitchen for you, and we invite you to partake of our vegetable garden which we are now establishing. In our kitchen, we provide a fridge for your use and we welcome you to use our kitchen and dining area for your family breakfast. We do leave a generous Continental breakfast for you. Outside seating and BBQ is provided for your relaxation, and a fire pit inside our pavillion - weather/season permitting. This all weather shelter for BBQ and outside cooking/eating - has magnificent views to the West. Generally, you will feel that you have the house to yourselves, not just your apartment.
    From the house we have 360 degree views. Walk out onto the 7.5 acres green grass and roll down the hill, sit under the trees, climb the trees, experience the quiet and watch the cows and other animals and wonderful birdlife all around. Coal Creek Historical village; Philip Island and Wilson's Prom not far away. Jindivick Art Trails and Loch Meenyin Fish Creek Festivals. I love that we can stroll down our driveway and we are there in the Village of Loch. Stroll through the Village, several coffee shop and restaurant choices, a wonderful Gift Shop with the best and inexpensive gifts available, unique design dress shops soap Bakery and fresh local produce; Antiques are often on sale and the Owner of Carringtons will deliver to Melbourne, anytime. Amalia’s superb Italian Restaurant and the Loch Wine Bar. There is a great playground for children, picnic area, skate park and walk under the Highway to the quaint railway station whose train is temporarily suspended due to damage to a Bridge along the normal route between Leongatha and Nyora. In this location we hold Farmers Markets during the warmer months; while Winter Markets are held in the Town Hall - 2nd Sunday monthly. Geoff and I can recommend local sheep and goat's cheese tasting opportunities: Prom Country Cheeses, and markets, particularly the very popular Kongwak market each Sunday. The Gippsland Wine Co. is in the Village, and here you commence the Gippsland Wine Trail, have a yarn with Mark, and try his outstanding award wining wines! Dinners are available close by at The Poowong Pub; Amalia’s The Grove and other places we can recommend...or use our BBQ/spit! Our own boutique Brewery has received much Press lately, as well as the Winery across the Hwy - wine tasting extravaganza!

    Sorrento is a popular tourist destination on the Mornington Peninsula, nestled between Portsea and Blairgowrie. It is situated on a thin strip of the Mornington Peninsula, facing Port Phillip in the north and the open waters of Bass Strait in the south. Sorrento's commercial centre is located at the bay end of Ocean Beach Road. This wide, attractive boulevard features a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes with its major landmark being the multi-storey Continental Hotel which was built out of limestone in 1875. Other historic hotels include Koonya Hotel (1878) overlooking the foreshore and Hotel Sorrento (1871) on nearby Hotham Road. The crescent-shaped Sorrento Front Beach is flanked by an attractive foreshore area with lawns, shelters and English trees, plus a couple of small jetties. The sheltered waters make it ideal for swimming and other water activities. At the western end of Sorrento Front Beach is Policemans Point and the Sorrento Pier which is used by a passenger and car ferry which links Sorrento to Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula. Climb the steps up the cliff face behind the Esplanade for spectacular views above Policemans Point where you catch watch the ferries come and go, and enjoy scenic views of Sorrento Front Beach. There's also the restored railway platform which was used by the Sorrento Steam Tram between 1890 and 1921 to carry holidaymakers arriving by ferry from Melbourne to the ocean beach. Sorrento was the site of Victoria's first official European settlement which was established by Lieutenant-Colonel David Collins in 1803. A monument honouring this historic event has been erected at Eastern Sister which is located near the south-eastern end of Sorrento's bay coastline. There is an elevated coastal walkway which leads to an information centre and several lookouts which provide scenic views across beach and bay. At the north-western end of Sorrento's bay coastline is Point King where Lieutenant Murray, on his exploration of Port Phillip in 1802, raised the Union Jack and claimed the land for the British. There is a monument to commemorate this event and a scenic coastal track from which splendid views along the coast in all directions can be enjoyed. Sorrento Historic Park, located on Point Nepean Road overlooking the bay, is a lush oasis which was first established in 1870. It features European trees, colourful garden beds, extensive lawns, BBQ facilities, a rotunda, children's playground and walking tracks. Scenic views of Policemans Point, the surrounding beaches and across the bay can be enjoyed from the park which extends to the cliff tops. The main point of access to Sorrento's ocean beach is from the southern end of Ocean Beach Road. The coastline here consists of stretches of sandy beach which back onto sand dunes and rocky cliffs. At the main car park is a cafe, the local surf lifesaving club and several walking tracks. There are two main lookouts accessed via these tracks - Coppins Lookout which provides views over the ocean beach and out to sea, while Websters Lookout overlooks the residential areas of Sorrento and Port Phillip in the distance. Steps descend the cliff face near Coppins Lookout and lead to rocky ocean platforms and stretches of sandy beach. Another scenic area to explore along the ocean coastline is Diamond Bay. Some spectacular views can be enjoyed of the coastline here with its many rocky outcrops and sandy beaches. It is protected by the Mornington Peninsula National Park where there are several walking tracks and stairways providing access to the beach below.

It is a close 2 minute stroll to the gastronomic delights of Martha’s Table - gourmet grocer, café, wine cellar (all-in-one wine tour!) and bar and open for breakfast until late. You have the benefit of being close to the water for fishing and yacht charters, marina boardwalks and swimming at nearby beaches - close to Peninsula boutique breweries, local cellar door, famous Red Hill markets & the retro Dromana 3 Drive in.
    With the choice of 3 bedrooms with 1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Singles and an open area with 2 Single beds, sleeping 8 - Anchorage8 has space for the whole family to spread out. The master bedroom is plush and is a deluxe space with King bed and Ensuite with long WIR and private balcony. A Queen bed is in the second room with large storage. Two Singles are in the third room with storage (this may be converted to 1 King if requested). An open area is fitted with 2 single beds (size is suitable for children, these are junior size mattresses). We have plush soft furnishings through the home and all bedding is supplied for your stay. There are two spacious living areas - one outdoors with an electronic removable shaded roof (vergola), seating and BBQ. The other inside, is perfect for family lounging in front of the fireplace. Entertaining is easy in the large kitchen. The long island bench serves as a breakfast bar, with double sink, flexi tap. All NEFF and SMEG appliances cover your needs to cook up a treat. The walk in pantry is equipped with all the basics for you on arrival. And the Caffitaly/Expressi coffee machine will keep all coffee/chai/hot choc lovers happy. Five (5) bikes (two adult size and three junior size), helmets, pump and 2 x locks are in the garage for use. Anchorage8 has access to the Marina boardwalks for leisurely strolls, bike rides and the foreshore has a wide path going all the way past Dromana. The property also supplies a set of golf clubs for guest use. Please note: Martha Cove is growing into a vibrant precinct with new homes and apartments under development. Construction activity is confined to week-days and some Saturdays (Sundays, public holidays and Christmas high season are usually exceptions). Governance and Compliance: All guests must comply with the Council By Law ‘code of conduct’. A copy will be available at the property, it is also available on the Shire website. (https://www.mornpen.vic.gov.au/About-Us/Laws-Regulations/Local-law-detail) Any complaints made from neighbours, Police and the Council regarding a breech of the conduct by you, your guests and any uninvited people will result in a full bond deduction and immediate eviction.
