This hike is a little bit of a drive (about 1 hr 15 min) but SO WORTH THE DRIVE!!! The temperatures are 10-15 degrees cooler, and the views are unmatched! You can park at Carvers Gap and hike in several different directions from there. Dogs on leash are allowed and a common site with all of the Appalachian Trail through hikers.
