This is my personal favorite, as my husband and I LOVE this top floor restaurant! It's a great place for couples or small families as it's not a very big restaurant, but the VIEW! Secret tip: the women's restroom has a view that is jaw dropping. Hit the bar early and enjoy a drink (again, top floor stunning view).

Okay, I know some of you love the "McDonald's" of the microbrew world! And yes, Lincoln City has a McMenamins for you. Ruby, Terminator, it's all there! Food at McMenamins has never really wowed me, but it is familiar to Oregonians, and well, if you've never had McMenamins beer, get thee to the pub!

I love fish & chips. That is all! Note: their fish & chips comes with cole slaw. It's not good, but the fish and chips makes up for that! They're fast, by the way. Bonus: Cold Stone Ice Cream is next door!

Everyone loves Mo's! It's an Oregon Coast family restaurant, with great clam chowder, and every kind of seafood you can imagine. This is a down-home, take the family, have a drink, and chill out and get your stomach filled kind of place. Jeans, sweatshirts, and hanging out with your family kind of place! I love the big salads loaded up with shrimp.

This place gets rave reviews, and as I'm a fish and chips lover, why haven't I eaten here? Always something to try or do! The photos of their food are amazing, and locals love this place too. Ive also heard their clam chowder is excellent. They do sell out, so don't be disappointed if you get there too late!

Sightseeing
Don't be put off by the little photo. The Roads End beach is absolutely stunning. Park your car, and hoof it down to the sand. Love a pretty surf? check. Love the hard sand to walk on? check. Love an agate here and there? bam. Got it. Roads End Beach is like that 1950s beach with a Lana Turner lying at water's edge in a red one-piece suit. We love our beach!

You can view God's Thumb from your beach walk at Roads End beach, looking north to see the rounded mountain at the end of the beach. If you're interested, throw it into your search engine and get directions for the hike! If you do choose to hike it, be cautious: it's not for young children or off-leash dogs. People have been blown off it in strong winds, and have also fallen and gotten seriously injured. Not for the faint of heart, but the view is great. Not for the young and careless!

For a really unique and special experience, go to the Lincoln City Glass Center and do your own artistic glass project. You can make a paperweight, a glass ball (like a float), or just buy cool stuff there. It's just a wonderful souvenir experience. Great for older kids and grown ups.

This is a charming beach community, about 11 miles north of Roads End. Get on Highway 101 and go north! It's very pretty. Here's info from the Tillamook website: Neskowin is a charming coastal village with a friendly neighborhood feel and magnificent natural setting. The beautiful beach is over 3 miles long, stretching north from the mouth of the Nestucca River to its southern tip, with dramatic Cascade Head rising to 1200 feet. Hiking access to Cascade Head trail is from the Forest Service road. The Nature Conservancy Trailhead is nearby and open July through January 1. Another trailhead at the Salmon River near Savage Road is open year-round. From any of these vantage points, you’ll enjoy incredible views from the headland over the ocean and the Salmon River estuary.

I like this store. It's a cut above Safeway, to be honest. Staff is very friendly, the meat section is superior, and you don't have all the other tourists coughing all over you (as is the case at the very crowded Safeway). This is my favorite grocery store, aside from Grocery Outlet. If you absolutely can't find what you need at IGO or Grocery Outlet, head to Safeway's on the north end of town.

Consejos para la ciudad

Costumbres y cultura
Don't Play on Logs at the Oregon Coast
Or anywhere on a coast. In Lincoln City, children have been seriously injured and killed by sitting and standing on logs at the coast. I won't go into detail, but while it looks stable, heavy, and strong--the waves can pick that log up and roll it over with no problem. Please be careful.
Costumbres y cultura
Don't Feed Seagulls
Please just don't. They will swarm you fast, and the locals hate it.
Costumbres y cultura
Dog Poop Bags on the Beach
If you're traveling with your dog, you're expected to dispose of their poop, but please take the bag with you. Leaving it by that piece of driftwood doesn't work. You'll forget it. Please just double bag it, and make your spouse carry it! ha ha!
Formas de ahorrar
Like Really Cheap Groceries?
Try Grocery Outlet, in the Lighthouse Square shopping center, near McMenaminns and the Dollar Store. Their wine, beer, cereal, frozen foods, and general "eating cheap while at an Airbnb" stuff is really good. I recommend it! Check out their chocolate aisle. The snack aisle has lots of nuts too, including the edible kind!
Facilidad para moverse por la casa
Driving on 101 is Crazy in the Summer Months
Avoid it if you can. Try shopping early or late if you need to. Also, watch it. This is a heavy pedestrian community. Please be extra careful with crosswalks.
Costumbres y cultura
Touching Sea Lions = Don't Do It!
When State of Oregon workers find an injured or ill sea lion on the beach, they will often use tape to create a perimeter. Don't disturb any animal that is ill or injured. Don't touch it, or attempt to move it. If an animal is distressed, don't approach it. Leave it.

Tsunami Warning Practice
Wednesdays a loud siren sounds. It's the system being tested. While it's a routine occurrence in LC, it can be frightening if you don't know what's going on.

Don't Litter on Oregon Beaches
Firework litter, plastic bottle litter, Starbuck's paper cup and plastic lid litter, plastic balloons released over the ocean's sealife litter, just don't do it. In fact, picking up some litter that others leave behind is one way you can very positively impact the environment. I come back with something to throw in our trash can at the Pacific Pearl every time I go to the beach.
Qué debes empacar
Bring Crocs or Flip Flops
Walking to the beach from Pacific Pearl takes about two minutes. Take something you can easily kick off once you're at the beach.

Sunscreen / Sunglasses / Chairs and Beach Umbrella
These are great items for you to bring along!

King Tides: Keep Your Distance
Every year, someone gets swept out to see during the King Tides season. Everyone wants to get close to the huge waves, but the problem is that the sea's unpredictably means that people are easily swept out to see. When children are involved, the ante is upped indeed. Please research "King Tides" in Lincoln City. Know before you go, and do NOT go onto the beach during a King Tide. Google's your friend. Use it and do your homework. Our windows are fantastic for watching, so stay inside with some hot chocolate. King Tides occur typically in November, December, January, February.

4th of July Guidelines
CLEAN and PICK UP-- Fireworks on the beach mess with ocean life. How? because people leave trash. The sea comes up high, takes trash into the ocean. BE COURTEOUS - Last year, in the Inn at Spanish Head area, a group of men harassed a family with racial slurs and threats. There had been some heavy drinking. That was over the 4th of July weekend. NO FIREWORKS HERE: Fireworks are upsetting to dogs and cats of our neighbors. Fireworks are never allowed in our driveway, on our decks or patios, or in the street. Thank you.
Costumbres y cultura
Chinese "candle" Lanterns
Illegal at Oregon Coast. “Although they are pretty, sky lanterns are uncontrolled, open-flamed devices that pose an extreme fire hazard to people, property, and the environment” said Oregon Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal Mariana Ruiz-Temple. “Once released you have no control over where they may land. They could end up on someone’s rooftop, in a tree, or a pile of debris and cause an unwanted fire.”

Fireworks Banned on Oregon Beaches
Fireworks are banned at all Oregon state park sites, including all beaches along the Oregon coast. While that rule has been in place for years, people continue to ignore it, littering beaches with debris and starting fires in the dune grass, Havel said.Jul 3, 2020
