French flavours in an intimate lounge room style café/patisserie. This family business specialises in French macarons, offering up to 34 different flavours in a kaleidoscope of colours. French macarons are lighter than Italian macarons, with intense flavours and fillings. The Mac Shac also serves a range of teas and coffees, as well as French-themed light lunches and Madeline’s home-baked cakes.

The décor and the food are American diner style, with a splash of vibrant colour. From the colourful décor and rock ‘n’ roll music to the heavily laden burgers and milkshakes served in traditional glasses, Sweet as Barossa can only be described as a happy place.

With an Italian-Serbian background and many years working as a pastry chef and baker around the world, Marko enjoys preparing international food for patrons. The Café is now a collaboration with neighbouring businesses Wine Stains and Dragonfly, and is known by locals as the Artisan Hub. Bar 41 Artisan Cafe sells local artisan produce and on Saturday mornings Marko’s much sought-after sourdough draws a crowd.
