Like to get off the beaten path? A great hike that follows the historic canal built to provide water to Hurricane and La Verkin. Depending on where you access the trail it can be a wonderful 7+ mile loop trail into and along the Virgin River Gorge. This is a somewhat challenging dog friendly hike.

Bryce Canyon National Park
Just 2 hours from Cliffside Cottage is Bryce Canyon National Park. A sprawling reserve in southern Utah, Bryce is known for its crimson-colored hoodoos, and spire-shaped rock formations. The park’s main road leads past the expansive Bryce Amphitheater, a hoodoo-filled depression lying below the Rim Trail hiking path. It has overlooks at Sunrise Point, Sunset Point, Inspiration Point and Bryce Point. Prime viewing times are around sunup and sundown.

Grand Canyon National Park
Just 2.5 hours from Cliffside Cottage, The Grand Canyon is a natural formation distinguished by layered bands of red rock, revealing millions of years of geological history in cross-section. Vast in scale, the canyon averages 10 miles across and a mile deep along its 277-mile length. Much of the area is a national park, with Colorado River white-water rapids and sweeping vistas. While most visitors visit the North or South Rim, TOROWEAP is spot where you will avoid crowds. However, you'll need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get there.
