Theme Parks
Pretty much everyone knows what Disneyland officially offers in terms of attractions and food spots, but what I really enjoy as an adult is the people-watching. If you're not intent on riding every ride (i.e., standing in a lot of lines), you can quite easily grab a churro, find a quiet enclave with a bench, and just enjoy seeing how everyone else spends their time at the happiest place on earth.

What started as a small berry farm soon began to grow into a family theme park destination thanks to famous fried chicken dinners, boysenberries and an Old West Ghost Town. Knott’s Berry Farm now bursts with attractions and entertainment for all ages, including first-class roller coasters, stage shows, interactive experiences, delicious food creations and family-friendly fun featuring Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang. The once small family farm has grown into today's family fun destination; home to the Knott's Berry Farm theme park, Knott's Soak City Waterpark and Knott's Berry Farm Hotel.
Be sure to grab some Boysenberry jam while you're there!

Neighborhoods
Old Towne Orange has a very unique vibe. Chapman University is just down the street from "the circle," which is a roundabout and surrounding streets filled with antiques stores, coffee shops, and restaurants of many cuisines.
The historic buildings, the plethora of boutique shops, and the nearby campus make for a very inviting neighborhood.

Beaches
Huntington beach is a super popular mid-range beach that's always kept clean. This is the beach I recommend visiting while you're here. I suggest using a rideshare service to get to and from though, as parking is almost always a nightmare.

Newport beach is a nice place to hang out, but it's not upkept quite as well as Huntington or Laguna. Parking is usually better here though, and there are often fewer other people taking up spaces along the shore.

Laguna beach is probably the nicest beach within a reasonable range of the house. It's gorgeous, and I really suggest checking it out. Parking is rough here, and pretty large portions of the beach don't allow public access.

Food scene
Felix is a local favorite Cuban restaurant located in the Circle. They have comfy outdoor seating and a great menu.

Johnie's Jr. is my go-to simple burger place. It's not fancy. It's not expensive. It's just simple, good food. They serve breakfast as well.
I really suggest getting some horchata or Orange Bang as your drink!
There's also a historic drive-through dairy (convenience store) next door.

Sightseeing
I've never been inside, but the "Crystal Cathedral" is a stunning example of beautiful architecture. It's cool just to drive past, honestly.

Chapman University, my alma mater, has a beautiful campus that's well worth taking a walk around—especially to see a piece of the actual Berlin Wall housed at a fountain. There's also a Holocaust museum on the third floor of the library.
And it's only about a two minute walk from the house!
