San Angels offers a huge array of things to do and see. Convents, museums, galleries, beautiful buildings, houses and quiet vibe in caotic Mexico City.
San Angel is a colonial neighborhood surrounded by convents, monasteries, museums and big homes. It is considered cultural heritage and declared "Historical Monument Zone" since the 1980's. In 2011 it was designated "Barrio Mágico" (Magic Neighborhood) to protect its architectural and historical assets. Every Saturday the neighborhood bursts with life and colors brigning Mexican artisans, paintors and craftsmen together at "Bazar del Sábado" where you can eat delicious Mexican food, walk around the convents and museums and shop for original art and hand-crafted souvenirs.
