Scribner's was a long-time motel in Hunter that recently got renovated into a hip boutique hotel. Food's great but on the pricey end. Tasty cocktails. Hotel lobby/lounge is very well designed place to relax for a bit and there's an outdoor wood burning stove out the back. Give it a gander & stay for more if it feels right.

This is the most quintessential and authentic country mountain town joint you can find. 2 min from Windham mountain, perfect after a day skiing there. It's been here forever and hasn't changed a bit. Often there's live music with a bit too many Tom Petty covers but that's part of the charm. Extensive outdoor area with stage/dancing, communal fire pit, volleyball court.

Bar area makes you feel like you're in a magical forest. They give you marshmallows to roast on their fire outside after your meal. You might want to move in. Unless taxidermy puts you off, in which case you should forget everything we just said and not go here!

This is the very beautiful Church a few minute walk from our house. They are very welcoming. They have lovely art gallery of Ukrainian artists and they serve Ukrainian breakfast Sunday mornings.

Nice spot for a little swim. Easily accessible right off the road. Be careful because the current can be a bit strong at times, but people of all ages are often there cooling off in the water.
