Stroll through the neighborhood to experience some of the most interesting architecture to be found in Austin. From peacocks to castles, staying in Bouldin Creek is entertainment in and of itself. This neighborhood also includes Auditorium shores, where annual fireworks are held on July 4th and New Years. Skip the traffic and stay in Bouldin Creek where you can walk to the coolest parts of Austin. Sightseeing Austin's most iconic hotspots is just where the fun begins. This neighborhood is home to world-famous bohemian shopping. We love to shop local here in Austin, so many of the shops in Bouldin Creek can't be found anywhere else in the world. Come for the shopping, stay for the tacos. If you came to Bouldin for a week, you could eat at a different taqueria for every meal and never leave the neighborhood. Too full to walk home? We got your back. Scooters and bike-sharing abound around here. If you've never tried Salsa Doña, head over to Seventh Flag and experience Taco Deli tacos. Salsa Doña has changed the lives of many people who never liked spicy food. It's VERY hot, and strangely addictive. If you love Tex Mex, go to Polvos. For something decadent visit Torchy's Tacos. Street tacos? El Tacorrido. Muchroom tacos? Mellizos Tacos. Tacos con musica? El Mercado, or Guerro's. When you're feeling like you've maybe eaten a few too many taco's, head to Fresa's for their powerbol - it's like a healthy taco without the tortilla. Then later, head back to Fresa's for more tacos. Life in Bouldin Creek is about balance - we're home to Gourdough's (Big. Fat. Doughnuts.) and Bouldin Creek Café - a purely vegetarian restaurant beloved by vegans and BBQ savants alike. Speaking of BBQ, let's talk about fusion. Paul Qi + Franklin's BBQ had a baby. It's name is Loro. I suggest you go there and try everything, including the burger, but don't eat too much. You need to pace yourself in this area, because Uchi is just down the street. They have a great happy hour, and they let you cook raw meat on a hot rock (for a price). You can enjoy so many beautiful meals in Bouldin. Make a reservation at Lenoir on South First for a special date and dining experience. Want something even more special? Check out Otoko on South Congress. Need more fusion in your life? Check out Elizabeth Street Café or Sway. Elizabeth Street Café also has some of the best desserts and macarons in Austin. (La Patisserie, Sugar Mama's and Haleycakes have your back on macarons, too.) Eater beware when it comes to dessert options in Bouldin. There are so many great dessert options in such a tight radius available at so many hours of the day - it's dangerous! Top of my list is Manoli's. Sugar Mama's is a close second. If you've never experienced a fresh churro, visit La Mexicana Bakery. (I recommend the fresa or crema.) Tiny pies can be found at Tiny Pies and Sugar Mama's. For cupcakes, Hey Cupcake!, Sugar Mama's, and Haleycakes and Cookies are ready to serve! Finally, I will offer a little shotgun of some of my other favorites in this area that have not already been mentioned: Juiceland, for smoothies; Perla's, for seafood; Alamo Drafthouse S. Lamar, for movies served with food and drink; Winebelly, for wine; June's All Day, for happy hour; David's Grocery, for milk or ice; Thai Fresh, for coffee, tea, food, dessert, gluten-free, vegan... For more recommendations, see my lists of places to visit in and around Bouldin Creek, above.

Consejos para la ciudad

Antes de que te vayas

Download rideshare apps before you arrive.

Download apps prior to your arrival and turn on notifications for Airport pick-up instructions.
Facilidad para moverse por la casa

You can book a private car for airport transportation.

Private car might be a better airport transportation option than rideshare during major events in Austin. We recommend Ali with Legendary Limousine. http://www.legendarylimousineinc.com/. (512) 569 4743
Facilidad para moverse por la casa

Traffic on major roads/freeways can be bad on weekdays.

Leave yourself extra time to get around, particularly during these times: 7:45AM - 9:45AM 3:30PM - 7:30PM
Facilidad para moverse por la casa

Special events congest the airport and event areas.

Here are a few notable Austin event dates and areas: * March 13 - 22, 2020, SXSW at Austin Convention Center and all over central Austin * October 2 - 4 and October 9 - 11, 2020, ACL at Zilker Park and/or Auditorium Shores * October 22 - 25, 2020, Formula 1 Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas and Downtown
