Sightseeing
There is so much to see and do around Bude. The South West Coastal Path is endless and endlessly beautiful, with hidden coves, steep cliffs, and long sandy beaches. The following places are some of my personal favourites, many of which you can walk to from Stone's Throw.
Walk the South West Coastal Path from Crooklets beach and in just 20 minutes you will arrive at this beautiful unspoilt beach. Time it right and at low tide you can walk all the way along the sand. It's a 5 minute drive (down Maer Lane), parking is by donation in the National Trust car park. It has all the charms of a rural beach, but is close to town. Dog friendly all year round. Don't forget to visit Sip & Sea for coffee, cake or even a cocktail! Live music sessions at the weekend (weather permitting).

This is a great rainy day destination, with local museum, two art galleries, and a cafe with one of the best views in town.

It clings to a 400 foot cliff in North Devon and has no vehicular traffic on its steeply cobbled street, just donkeys and sledges. Time to enjoy a step back in time.
In just an hour's drive you can visit the world famous Eden Project. You can't come to Cornwall and miss this out!

Bude Sea Pool is a beautiful, part natural, part man-made swimming pool in the rocks at Summerleaze Beach. Created in 1930, the Sea Pool has provided safe bathing at Bude for over 80 years. It is one of the very few tidal swimming pools which still remains open to the general public today and is open throughout the year, free for all to enjoy. The Pool is topped up by the sea at high tide each day.

A fantastic little village not far from Bude, with a lovely old harbour and the infamous Witches museum. Enjoy a pint or 2 in the Cobweb Inn. Stunning scenery and right on the South West Coastal Path.

For a day trip out of town, Hartland Quay is a secret gem that time forgot. Drive down the winding cost road to the end. Incredible views, and the pub does a good pint! Lovely little gift shop, and a great place to start stunning coastal path walks.

If you don't mind joining quite a few others who've had the same idea, visit the supposed home of King Arthur. It's a great day trip, but worth calling in advance to book tickets.

Food scene
This is a list of my favourite eateries in the area. I strongly recommend booking as early as possible - even before you arrive - to ensure a place, particularly in high season. If using takeaways, again, it is best to call early and book your slot. There are lots of lovely places to eat and I'm sure I've missed a few off, please feel free to suggest recommendations.
Some eateries offer a free delivery. When ordering please just mention the apartment is situated in the lane between Victoria Rd and Downs View and number 71.
A real favourite with the locals and holiday makers...booking is essential! Fantastic food, great staff, laid back and friendly atmosphere and good prices.
Very highly recommended!

Supermarkets
In town there is a Co-op, Morrisons, Lidl and Sainsbury's. Sainsbury's is walking distance, and the smallest of them all. Co-Op is in the centre of town, Morrisons and Lidl are towards the A39 at the top/main entrance of town. Please be aware that during peak season they will be busy, and there will probably be queues.
Your local supermarket is just 750m away. Do stop to admire the Bude tunnel to it's right which was Trip Advisors top tourist attraction in Bude for some weeks. :) It was also covered in flashing fairy lights one Christmas and did look quite spectacular - it even made the West Country News!
