Pine Avenue in Downtown Long Beach has many great restaurants to check out, my recommendations: George's Greek Cafe (Greek, Pine Ave), Bo Beau (Rooftop bar/restaurant, Pine Ave), Alegria (Latin Table, Pine Ave.

2nd street in Belmont shore is full of great restaurants, shops, and sports bars. The beach is also nicer on this side of town. Take the bike/running path all the way down!
