Need a café mocha with and extra shot? Literally a 75 second walk out your front door. They always give you a ginger snap cookie with every coffee.

This is our favorite super cheap, super delicious local Mexican food restaurant. Dine in or take out, its a winner every time. Try the smothered burrito with cheese. And ask for chips and salsa (half the time they don't even charge you for the C+S...just ad it in the tip) Don't be put off if they don't answer the phone right away...its worth the extra effort! 3205 So State St. 801-281-3272. 5 Minute Drive from your apt.

Our favorite upscale dine in restaurant. (still reasonable for a family man) Make a reservation, because this hole in the wall family owned restaurant fills up fast. Our favorite is the "BLACK TAGLIATELLE". They have full bar, and outside private seating. 249 E 400 S, Salt Lake City...about 10 minutes from your apt. 801-364-1368

Neighborhoods

Our apt boarders the Sugar House neighborhood. Here you will find a neighborhood with mom-and-pop shops, the Sugar House Park, Fairmount park, and a number of gastropubs. You can drive to the main sugarhouse hub located at 2100 S and 1100 East, or you can take the streetcar! Simply exit the apt. and walk south down 200 east to the first intersection, where you will see the streetcar tracks. Walk to the tracks and turn left walking on the hiking/biking trail. The station is just half a block further. For ticket prices and all the cool places the streetcar can take, visit http://www.shstreetcar.com/

City/town information

Seems like everyone has heard of Park City, UT but its kinda pricy to stay there. Make a day trip...only takes about 35 minutes from the apt depending on traffic. Here is what we do when we go...punch in "china bridge parking" into your mapping program, and that is where you want to park. Its free depending on time of season, and gets you within a minute walk of main street. Than go have a beer at the "Wasatch Brewery", or for the rowdy crowd go to the "no name saloon". When your done there, walk main street and visit the art shops. Top off the evening with a coffee or hand made ice cream from the "java cow".

Ski/Boarding rentals and tickets hack

Don't rent your gear or buy resort tickets at the ski resort. Here is the my "ski/boarding SLC hack"! Whether your headed to Park City, or the Cottonwood Canyons (Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, Brighton) make your way to "REI" (3285 E 3300 S) then make your way west for a string of other smaller shops. Next will be "Ski-n-see" (3131 E 3300 S), followed by "Milo Sport" snowboard shop (3119 E 3300 S) then "Level 9 sports" (2927 E 3300 S) and finally "Lone Peak Gear Exchange" (2835 E 3300 S) for new, used, and rental gear. All this within a mile of each other. Hopefully it will save you some $
