City/town information
The great thing about staying right in the heart of Cambridge is that you can go for an explore on foot and get a real sense of the town. Our location is only a short 2-10 minute walk from the Lake Te Kooutu reserve, the Cambridge pools, the skate park and pump track, the town square, most restaurants and cafes, shopping and the river. We are super central to many other local attractions like the Lake Karapiro Don Rowlands Centre or the Avantidrome. You can hire e-bikes and bikes from the information centre (3-5 minutes walk from here) which means you can make use of the vast cycle ways accessible from Central Cambridge.
If you're planning to use Cambridge as a base, fantastic choice. We are just over and hour to each coast if you're thinking a day trip to the beach is on the cards; less than an hour to Hobbiton (Matamata) or to adventure down to Waitomo for caving, rafting or to marvel at the glowworms; we are under two hours to the tourist destinations of Auckland, Taupō, Rotorua or Coromandel; A day trip to the snow or National Park is less than three hours away! All of these are worthy destinations, all the more reason to use Cambridge for a base to be able to visit all of these.

Hamilton is the closest city to Cambridge. To get to the CBD takes 20 minutes. There are multiple shopping centres, playgrounds and eateries that are so close. Hamilton Zoo is great for families, the Skycity casino is great for those on adult time. This world renowned work of garden art is a stone's throw away! A 15 minute drive takes you to the Hamilton Gardens. This is one of the best example of public parks and cultivated gardens in the southern hemisphere. You will not be disappointed. There are spectacular themed gardens, a children's play area, cafe and occasional food markets. It's simply a delight. Plan to spend 2+ hours soaking it all in.
