Passeio turístico
The viewpoint of Cumeeiras, in Bretanha, is about 5 minutes drive from the cottage. From there you will have a lovely view over the twin lakes of Sete Cidades, the surrounding mountains and the ocean. This viewpoint is usually much quieter than the viewpoint of Vista do Rei. Here you can enjoy the beautiful landscape minus the crowds. :)

The windmill of Pico Vermelho is a perfect example of a traditional Azorean mill. Just down the street from the cottage, it could be worth taking a look at this picturesque little place.

In older times, whaling boats used to stop in the harbour of Ajuda. Nowadays, it can be used as a place to relax by the water. The path down to the ocean is quite steep, but it is in very good condition. You can just walk from the cottage and you will be rewarded with a very peaceful and relatively unknown place, with very few to none visitors.

At about 10 minutes drive from the cottage, you can take a plunge at the natural swimming pools of Santo António. It´s a pleasant place for a swim close by.

The closest sandy beach is the one at Mosteiros. It is known for it´s black sand and the views to the Mosteiros islets. It´s about 15 minutes drive from the cottage.
